With such hip hop artists as Queen Latifah, LL Cool J and Queen Pen writing books to reach their fans, it would have only been a matter of time before the much younger generation received a message from today’s rappers. Later this year legendary rapper/beatbox king Doug E. Fresh and LL Cool J will be releasing two books of a future series of read and rap-along books titled “Hip Kid Hop” for children ages 4-10 years old. Each book will come with a two-track CD that will allow them to hear a song from the writer along with an instrumental version.
LL Cool J’s book will be titled “And the Winner Is”, detailing the story of a young basketball player who learns an important lesson when it comes to winning and losing in life. Doug E. Fresh is preparing to release his book “Think Again” which will tell the story of two kids who develop a friendship with one another. Music for several of the projects will be done by none other than Ron” Amen-Ra” Lawrence, De La Soul, Stetsasonic, Doug E. Fresh and of course LL Cool J. I think this project is a great idea and hope that everyone can support this project. Big up to all the celebrities that take the time to get involved with “Hip Kid Hop”.
