Director and writer Donny Armstrong, known for having a hand in the Street Life DVD that introduced the world to Trick-Trick has announced a new independent feature film. Five K. One is a film that dramatizes the Federal Sentencing Guidelines that encourage reduced sentencing for provided information. Commonly referred to in Hip Hop and street culture as “snitching,” the government and street support of the act has caused controversy and debate.

Five K. One stars rappers Yukmouth of Tha Luniz fame, Marvwon, Forty Da Great, Clifton Powell and Melvin Jackson of The Wire. Ironically, the film’s lead, Forty Da Great, is presently incarcerated. Based on the premise’s appeal to prisoners, the script will also be adapted into book form, making it accessible to those incarcerated.

The film’s score was arranged and mixed by Steve King, who’s long been Eminem’s go-to mixer.
