With Public Enemy’s new album “Revolverlution” is scheduled to hit stores this July 23rd, but the PE member Chuck D is going beyond his group’s music. Chuck D and Gary G. Wiz put together a theme song for baseball on ESPN for their Sunday night programming. Chuck D said in a statement on his website www.slamjamz.com, “I know baseball, so my whole thing is to make a lot of metaphors, don’t go too far over people’s heads. I just tried to make something that’s in line with ‘Take me out to the Ballgame’ and a little bit of Hank Williams Jr. (who composed the hit ‘Are You Ready for Some Football’)”.
In other Public Enemy news fans can look forward to remixes of four of the group’s most popular hits like; “Shut’ Em Down (one of my favorites), the highly sampled “Public Enemy No. 1”,“B-Side Wins Again” and “By the Time I get to Arizona”. Chuck D allowed long time fans to get into the act of helping to create this album by allowing them to submit beats for the project. After going through 450 different submissions, these four songs were remixed with four winners beats.
