With the release of his new song “Heaven, I Need A Hug”, Robert Kelly is making a decision to speak out about the charges against him through his music. Although the song was not yet slated for a release until his new album “Loveland” was completed, massive bootlegging has pushed the single to the forefront. In this song R.Kelly chooses to lash out not only at the media who he feels has already judged him and women who are dependent on men.

In the song Kelly sings, “I gave 13 years of my life to this industry/ Hit song or not, I’ve given all of me/ You lie in my face and tell me you love me/ But then before you know the truth you’re so quick to judge me”. With the chorus “Heaven, I need a hug/ Is there anyone willing to embrace a thug?”, R. Kelly seems to plead to not only his family but his true fans. R. Kelly will appear in court this Wednesday June 26 to enter in a plead to the twenty one counts of child pornography charges.
