Many hip-hop heads still remember and watch Jay-Z’s first straight to video movie “Streets Is Watching”, but I want you to pay close attention the next time the video for “Friend or Foe” comes on. The man, who portrayed the drug dealer Jay-Z ran up on in the hotel, has been arrested for shooting several people in Bar Veloce in New York. Steve Johnson allegedly burst into the bar at two a.m., with three guns and a samurai sword shouting, “White people are going to burn tonight!” After being subdued by two of the bar patrons, Johnson was taken into custody by police.
It has been reported by New York Police that Steve Johnson had been infected by the AIDS virus and his wife had just recently passed away from the disease in March of this year. Johnson, a fellow Brooklyn resident, owned a barbershop in Jay-Z’s old neighborhood that the rapper frequently went to get a hair cut. It is not yet known how long Jay-Z knew Johnson, but he had reportedly been on set with one of Jay-Z’s first video’s “I Can’t Get With That”. No comment has come from the Roc-A-Fella camp yet.
