“Yes. There’s going to be an album this year,” she said, prompting cheers from the audience. “I’m so excited. It’s called Y2K. It’s almost finished so I’m really excited.”

The Bronx rap star explained that the title is a nod to her date of birth — January 1, 2000 — and hinted at least one appetizing collaboration on the project.

In December, Ice Spice’s producer RIOTUSA ramped up anticipation for Y2K by declaring it will be home to more “classic” material.

“Fans should know I produce and record too, so look out for my music,” he said during a live Q&A which was captured by Billboard. “Also look out for new classics with Ice in 2024. We’re working on her debut album as we speak.”

Ice Spice gave fans an early glimpse of the album earlier this month with the release of her new single “Think U The Shit (Fart),” which appeared to contain another shot at her rumored rival Latto.

While the two have been exchanging subliminals for a while, the Bronx native seemingly made an overt reference to the “Big Energy” hitmaker on the song.

Over a pounding, video game-inspired beat from RIOTUSA, Synthetic and venny, she rapped: “I got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up/ She all on the floor, told her get up,” which appeared to be a nod to Latto’s hit song “Put It On Da Floor.”

Y2K will serve as the follow-up to Ice Spice’s Like..? EP which dropped in January 2023. The project peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 while spawning a string of hit singles including “In Ha Mood,” “Deli” and “Princess Diana” with Nicki Minaj.
