Ice Spice & Nicki Minaj’s ‘Princess Diana’ Outsells Entire Top 25 On Hot 100

Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj’s new record “Princess Diana” has outsold the entire Top 25 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

According to Billboard, since the release of “Princess Diana” on Friday (April 14), it has been downloaded 77,000 times, which is the best sales week for any rap title since Nicki Minaj dropped “Super Freaky Girl” in 2022. The single has also allowed Ice Spice to nab her first No. 1 Hot Rap Song after appearing on the charts four previous times.

In addition, “Princess Diana” has the eighth spot in chart history featuring at least two solo women, which dates back to 1989 (including rappers and singers).

    • “It’s a Shame,” Monie Love featuring True Image, two weeks at No. 1, beginning April 13, 1991
    • “4, 5, 6,” Sole featuring JT Money & Kandi, one, Nov. 20, 1999
    • “Hot Boyz,” Missy Elliott featuring Nas, Eve & Q-Tip, 18, Nov. 27, 1999
    • “Fancy,” Iggy Azalea featuring Charli xCX, 18, May 3, 2014
    • “Black Widow,” Iggy Azalea featuring Rita Ora, five, Oct. 18, 2014
    • “WAP,” Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion, eight, Aug. 22, 2020
    • “Rumors,” Lizzo featuring Cardi B, one, Aug. 28, 2021
    • “Princess Diana,” Ice Spice & Nicki Minaj, one (to date), April 29, 2023

Recently, Chart Data reported that Minaj had become the rapper with the most No.1 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart. Overtaking Drizzy’s 13 No.1s, Nicki earned her 14th because of “Princess Diana.”  As a result, Nicki extends her record as the female rapper with the most Top 10 hits on the Hot 100 chart.

The duo recently released an EP of “Princess Diana” remixes, which includes four alternative versions of Ice Spice’s popular track, including one called “Extendo Clip.”

Although they maintain the energetic beat of the original, each remix has its own flavor, texture, and influence.

The remix of the Like…? single comes after Ice Spice was shouted out by the Pinkprint rapper after she appeared on the cover of Dazed magazine.

“GAG!!! ‘The people’s PRINCESS.’ Catch it!!!” Nicki wrote at the time. She also quoted Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana” lyrics back to her in the comments, making the link-up very fitting.

In other Ice Spice related news, the Bronx rapper was recently invited to one of her biggest fan’s college graduation, and the student has gone to extensive lengths to grab the “Princess Diana” rapper’s attention.

The fan, who goes by Lil Munchy Baby on Instagram, purchased a billboard in Georgia to invite Ice Spice to his college graduation.

“Dear Ice Spice, I’m feelin’ u, love Munchy,” reads the sign. “You’re invited to my graduation on May 5th. Please DM.”

The accompanying photo finds Munchy Baby posing with his graduation cap while laying on a throne and flexing stacks of cash.

He added in his Instagram caption: “Court ordered to go to school is crazy but I did it and kept my head up high I graduated and actually got a degree finna walk the stage and I need bae there tag @icespice for me. just embracing my inner munch.”

    1. Universal is known for buying there artists music just to make it look good on paper. 50 cent even said that when his album went heads up with Kanye. It ain’t that many uneducated Ghetto “H” out there.

    2. Rap should just die at this point. It had a good run. Money has destroyed it along with any talent left in it. The more you sell chances are the less talented you are. All of the talent has been pushed aside for trash like this. I give it 10 years at most for major record labels to milk any money left from the industry and rap will finally be on its way out. Thank god. Just die already lol i really cared about hip hop and where it was headed but ten years later I just don’t care anymore wooooooo

      1. I mean seriously who is forcing you to listen to this? you dont have to listen to mainstream. you also can listen to older rap and theres 20 million rappers on youtube. go find one

      2. Oh I never listened to it. I know its trash lol I’m just sick of seeing it all over the internet. Haven’t seen many decent young rappers in awhile. Please point me in the right direction. I’d be glad to give it a listen. It’s really the main reason I even go to this site is to hopefully come across an article about somebody new that’s actually good. I can only listen to older rap so many times lol It’s just when I saw “Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj’s new record Princess Diana has outsold the entire Top 25 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart” I just had to come in here and say something. Disco music had a good 10 years or so run in the 70s. Ya this is like as if everybody kept just listening to shitty disco music for decades and decades and it just kept getting worse and worse over time because nothing new came out to replace it. It’s kind of like that.

    3. “outsells” meaning a bunch of horned up dudes watched the video of 2 bitches shaking ass. also this seems to happen a lot to nicki where it seems QUITE suspicious. trollz 1 week, say so 1 week, super freaky girl 1 week. idk just sayin.

      1. You hit the nail on the head. We’re it not for the visuals of the two of them ho-ing, it wouldn’t have done well. Add the Barbz and the controversy of being paid to streamline. Nicki ain’t got talent. She an industry plant involved with a pedo that otherwise would’ve been condemned were she not in the stardom she’s in. I mean, lessor men with smaller missteps are going through way much more wrath from society. But her lgbtq fans turn a blind eye, females don’t recognize and stupid a$$ men just be thinking with their penises. This is our “black Queen contender.” Black folk take another L. It took years for R Kelly to get put down, and guess who are still championing him? Ignorant uneducated broken family black folk.

    4. Weird because I’ve never once met someone even talk about ice spice and have only met 1 person who listens to Nicki. Yet they’re apparently getting this many plays? Industry plants at it again. Their label is obviously buying their music to help lie about their nonexistent talent.

    5. Whole bunch of lovers on here. Not from cities that hiphop even thrives in lol ICE Spice out barred all yall corny feminine rappers. I wish we could show Instagram profiles on here so we can see how lammmmee and un credible any of these losers commenting on this racist site. I’m from Philadelphia East Coast. So don’t tell me shit about real rap you slow rapping mumble corny soul rapping ass haters
