Ice Spice has become the target of trolls – which is to be expected given the level of fame she’s reached – but a recent interaction shows that she’s got the thick skin to handle it.

On Monday (July 3), a Twitter user popped up in her mentions with a picture that transposed half of a photo of a young woman with Down Syndrome over half of Ice’s face – as if to say they look just alike.

It’s been a whirlwind year for Ice Spice, and things are about to get even crazier as she gears up to head out on tour with Doja Cat. In collaboration with Live Nation, the 24-date Scarlet Tour kicks off on Halloween in San Francisco and will hit cities such as Las Vegas, Denver, Houston and more before wrapping up in Chicago in December. Doechii will also be on the lineup.

Due to reasons such as this, Ice Spice ended up having to decline the XXL Freshman cover for 2023 – with an inside source reportedly telling TMZ she’s been “blitzed with festival bookings and feature requests.”

The sources noted her busy schedule made it difficult to lock her in for Freshman requirements.

The list, which was unveiled last month, features rising stars like Finesse2Tymes, GloRilla and Lola Brooke, among others.

While she wasn’t a part of XXL‘s coveted freshman list, she did end up being Teen Vogue‘s latest cover girl. During the interview, Ice Spice addressed the claims that she only blew up due to her being lighter-skinned.

“I have seen those opinions,” she said “I feel like that’s not something personal to me. I feel like that’s been the conversation for generations and forever, since the beginning of time.”
