Hit-Boy Drops New Song After ‘Idiots’ Break Into His Studio

Hit-Boy is turning misfortune into music after his studio was targeted by robbers.

On Sunday (January 4), the multi-platinum producer/rapper released a new song called “Crow Bars” inspired by the scary incident, which occurred in the early hours of that morning.

“This morning around 4am some idiots broke into my office / studio and went thru a hassle just to get next to nothing. I had my grammys there and I know they wanted my jewels but not today champions FOH,” he explained on Instagram.

“I did a freestyle called ‘Crow Bars’ watching the footage of these low life’s going thru my shit smh. If you know these clowns tag em in the comments I got cash for you.”

Accompanied by actual CCTV footage of the break-in, the track finds Hit-Boy recounting the experience and gloating that the criminals “didn’t touch a legend, didn’t touch nothing of worth.”

“They brought crow bars and left with karma / They took my gloves but not my honor / Looked over the Grammys, looked over the gold / And they didn’t touch my kit or my beats or my soul, n*gga,” he defiantly raps over jazzy, horn- and piano-laced production.

The Fontana, California native closes out the song by warning the culprits: “I know one of you bitch-ass n*ggas follow me or something … I’m on you n*ggas, man. Hoe-ass n*ggas. And I’m still icy, still wavy. I’m only getting better and getting stronger.”

“Crow Bars” picks up right where Hit-Boy left off in 2025, which was another productive year for the in-demand producer.

In addition to lacing the likes of Jay Electronica, 03 Greedo, Lefty Gunplay, Jay Worthy and Peezy with heat, the 38-year-old dropped two full-length projects with The Alchemist (Goldfish) and Spank Nitti James (Yeast Talkin’).

But more importantly, 2025 marked the beginning of a new (and long-awaited) chapter in Hit-Boy’s career after he finally got out of an unfavorable publishing deal that he had been locked in since the start of his career almost 20 years ago.

The move, which JAY-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez helped facilitate, meant that Hit-Boy could fully reap the rewards of his hard work.

“I remember getting a text from Hov after [‘N*ggas In Paris’] dropped and he said, ‘If you get me another ‘N*ggas In Paris’ I’ll get you a plane’ jokingly but today I can say he got me something more valuable than a plane or anything tangible,” he wrote on Instagram.

“He helped secure my freedom from an 18 year publishing deal I was stuck in and I can’t thank him enough for pushing that thru. Much appreciation to Desiree Perez for also making this happen the love and respect on my end runs deep and I appreciate all the help frr.”

Hit-Boy added: “Today I am a free man, I feel like i just got out the pen after an 18 year sentence and have a chance to start over with more knowledge than I ever had. my best has yet to be seen God is Great!”

    1. Bro broke into Hit-Boy’s studio and left with nothing but bad decisions and a lifetime supply of regret. That’s not a robbery, that’s a cry for help from the universe. He’s not even mad—he’s gloating over a bunch of clowns who couldn’t even steal his soul. Meanwhile, the man’s dropping jazzy bangers with actual CCTV footage like it’s a horror movie on Netflix. I’d rather be that dumbass with a crowbar than get roasted in a verse by this man. Absolute legend.

      1. Actual legends don’t get respected and pushed by the industry. Bro was good in the beginning then sold out. Lex Luger, Young Chop, Southside, Dree The Drummer, Parris Bueller, Mannie Fresh, TM88, Harry Fraud, Sonny Digital, Drumma Boy, Knucklehead, DJIll Will, those actual legends.

    2. What? The Grammy that important? These people really do sell their souls. Hit Boy full of ego and full of it anyway

    3. Ye put him on and he turned on Ye for attempt at being the next guy and he never was. People forget this guys failed label and rap career HS87 the push they gave him and he went no where then got repackaged as just a producer again. He cares so much for those Grammys more than being a decent human being or having any honor typical yuppie trash. Bro hasn’t been a good producer since the mid 2010’s that was his peak then he turned hipster working with Alchemist. Industry conned him and Nas into thinking they would take over. Jim Jones and Fivio are right Jim has more impact in modern day NYC and Chief Keef in overall modern hip hop.

    4. He is lying on the last part Kanye signed him as a producer then he threw Ye under the bus to get his HS87 deal now kisses up to no talent Jay Z who kissed Warren Buffetts ring enough to get his position. Dame built Roc A Fella, Ye helped with RocNation music, Jay has no talent, even Diddy helped him out.

    5. His uncle a musician got him signed then Kanye signed him as a producer now he was “enslaved” and Jay Z saved him. No this idiot failed at running a record label and all the artists left HS87.
