Hip Hop Exhibit At Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame’s featured exhibition this year is hip-hop. In order to celebrate African-American creativity the traveling exhibit focuses on hip-hop’s evolution from block parties with Grand Wizard Theodore to a multi-billion dollar industry. The exhibit kicked off January 17th in Chicago and features over 400 articles of memorabilia, ranging from 2Pac’s old notebook to one of the first editions of The Source when it was basically a newsletter to a directors chair Queen Latifah used. Photos, album covers and written documents by various legends will also be on display.

The exhibit also has interactive features, two computer kiosks where visitors can learn to scratch, spin and sample from James Brown. The exhibit was created at The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland and has already been featured in Brooklyn and San Francisco. It will be at the Museum of Science and Industry through May 27.
