week, the Hip Hop charts welcome Pretty Ricky, who debut their album Late
Night Special at #1 with an impressive 132k sold. Akon continues his
success as Konvicted pushes another 50k, placing him at #7, with almost
1.4 million sold.
Young
Jeezy’s Inspiration pushes another 31k, placing him at #18 (773k sold
overall) while Nas and Snoop lock up the #35 and #36 spots, respectively. Nas’ Hip
Hop is Dead sells another 20k (580k sold overall), and Snoop’s Blue
Carpet Treatment brings home 19k this week.
Jay-Z
slips 11 spots into #40, with Kingdom Come moving only 18k this week. On
the other hand, Birdman & Lil’ Wayne
jump from #48 to #43, with another 17k sold, bringing Like Father, Like Son
to 569k sold.
The
Dreamgirls continues to stay atop the charts at #6, with another 55k
sold, rounding its sales out to 633k; the real story, however, is the continuing
impressive sales of Corrine Bailey Rae, who manages to sell another 38k of her
self-titled album in her 32nd week on the charts (910k sold
overall).
