Hip Hop Album Sales: The Week Ending 9/23/2012

G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer compilation scored a #2 debut on the charts. The Def Jam Records-backed album featuring Kanye West, Pusha T, 2 Chainz and even Mase was 75,000 units behind P!nk’s latest album, Truth About Love, but the first label release from ‘Ye’s imprint moved over 200,000 overall units in its first week.

Tech N9ne also nailed a Top 30 with his E.B.A.H. (Evil Brain Angel Heart) release. Billed as a 10-track EP, this is Tech’s second such release of 2012 (following Klusterfuk), a popular move at Strange Music in recent months.

Another highly-respected Midwest emcee crashed the charts this week. Brother Ali’s fifth album, Mourning In America And Dreaming In Color just missed the Top 40. The Minneapolis, Minnesota lyricist’s latest Rhymesayers release was entirely produced by Seattle, Washington’s Jake One, and features professor and author, Dr. Cornel West.

Lastly, Bay Area 2011 sensation Kreayshawn’s Sony Records-backed debut, Something ‘Bout Kreay debuted. The release missed the Top 100, but was only availabile digitally in its first week. The project includes appearances from Kid Cudi and 2 Chainz, along with Diplo production.

    Cruel Summer Does G.O.O.D.

Kanye West’s orchestrated Cruel Summer compilation is a benchmark for G.O.O.D. Music’s branding. At #2, the album featured label veterans like Common, John Legend and longtime affiliate Malik Yusef. Additionally, new wave of the label was prominently featured including CyHi The Prynce, Big Sean and Pusha T of The Clipse. Kanye also enlisted a select group of veterans including Ghostface Killah, Jadakiss and R. Kelly – along with Mase, who ‘Ye worked with in the late ’90s. With the Jay-Z-assisted “Clique” serving as the latest high-profile single, the album moved over 200,000 first-week units. In the midst of the sales, the project was met with mixed reviews.

The production ensemble on this release included Mike Dean, Mannie Fresh, Hit-Boy and longtime Duck Down Music affiliate !llmind.

    Brother Ali Dreams In Color

Brother Ali’s fifth album, Mourning In America And Dreaming In Color sold approximately 10,000 units in its first week at retail. The highly-anticipated Rhymesayers release is Ali’s departure from working with producer/deejay Ant of Atmosphere and his first full-length with another ear behind the boards. After collaborating frequently over the last five years with Jake One, the pair made this thematic release about the state of America, religion, race and other highly-relevant issues to the social discourse of 2012. This is Ali’s first retail release in over three years, since 2009’s Us.

Previously Jake One produced Freeway’s Stimulus Package, and released his own White Van Music album with RSE.

      1. Your an idiot. Underground rapper who owns his label drops an EP that’s digital only with no promotion and cracks the top 30

        Tech N9ne wins

    1. kreayshawn got that million dollar deal and only sold 4000 copies! you best believe someone is going to be getting fired for that shit!

      1. Only sold that much at retail. Let’s say the label managed to ship 500,000 at $5 a pop. The retailers are the ones stuck with the units if they don’t sell the label is fine

      2. ^^^ But it still a death sentence for the artist, because now they know the store damn sure aint gonna order nothing for his follow up. And the guy who thought Kreayshawn was a good idea better start working on his resume because all his superiors now know he dont know what he’s doing

      3. Interesting… Are you 100% sure about that? The way these labels conduct business you wouldn’t think that they would have a return policy with the retailers.

    2. LAUGHTERHOUSE!!!

      Naw, that shit ain’t a flop…

Interscope want to sign ’em for LAUGHTERHOUSE III now but there’s going to be a bidding war for sure.

    3. So all this ‘we are number one hip hop crew’ shit and ‘Good’ gets knocked of the spot by a washed up pop singer? Haha, got to be kidding me.

    4. Whoever signed Kreayshawn to Sony just lost there job.

Tech N9ne stays winning, I’m a fan and I aint even know this EBAH thing existed, gonna have to check it out.

Brother Ali was never my thing but I like his new one, maybe its the improved production, I could never get into Atmosphere but Jake One did his thing on there

    5. Now that cruel summer has come and opens with these number, my thoughts have been confirmed; 2012 will go down in hip hop HISTORY AS THE YEAR NO HIP HOP ALBUM WENT PLATINIUM. If its not wayne or kanye or jay or eminem or drake then forget it.

      1. Yep, hip hop finally made its self irrelevant to the mainstream.

People are like “New hip hop album, no thanks, I dont need to hear somebody slur like a retard or tell me how rich they are”

Expect the people at majors to have some serious discussions about going a new direction

      2. If hip hop was a stock it’d be plumetting. Floaded with so much acts and worst, all trying to sound like the other success. If this trend continues then in a short wild hip hop will be like rnb…

    6. I have no idea how artists still manage to sell albums. I would say maybe 5% (I’m being very generous) of the people I know actually buy albums. Everyone else downloads them for free. If we go back 10-15 years, many of these albums would be certified platinum.

      1. And the retailers will remember how bad they got fucked and not order much next time. Its like the resteraunt business, a distributor will try there best to talk you into carrying a new product, you might order it once but when nobody likes the shit, you damn sure wont order again and it’ll make you lose faith in the distributor.

Point being Kreayshawn aint droppin again on Sony and the guy who signed her is getting fired.

      2. Yea I wonder what’s happening with all of the unsold units. Bargain bin? Because when you think of the number of retail outlets in just the US alone to think that a label ships off a milli doesn’t seem like enough where every retailer at all of it’s locations would have a sufficient amount stocked. So with these big names maybe 2mil off top the retailers are getting raped agree about Kreay

    7. People can stop the hate on SH now… everyones beloved tech 9 only did 14k must be a flop then right?…Nas rap LEGEND barely BARELY JUST NOW broke 300k with life is good…must be a flop right?..Brother Ali 10k…must be a flop right?… fucking clowns dont you know garbage runs the charts now?

      1. Tech is on an indy label, not backed by interscope and Shady. Huge difference! Nas’ album dropped almost two months before Slaughterhouse and he put up better numbers than them this week. Slaughterhouse flopped. Considering how Nas’ album had the internet in a frenzy you can say he flopped too and I bought the album. It’s no big deal and nothing to get upset about. Who cares. The most important thing for me is the quality of the music and Slaughterhouse put out a subpar joint.

      2. What are Tech 9’s costs, dipshit, compared to Laughterhouse?

You think Interscope “gave” them anything?

Wake the fuck up and get going on Sackofshit Ortiz’s Kickstarter because fatso is going to need it.

    8. Tech 9’s units on an independent = 14000

      Kreyshawn’s units on a 1 million dollar major label deal = 3900

      Look on Sony/columbia label’s face = Priceless!

    9. Peep I never heard of Lecrae and he sold 100k
I just got put on to brother Ali 2 weeks ago.
KREAYSHAWN I KNEW ABOUT FOR A YEAR. And this lemon ass b*tch pulls in at 3,900? This goes to show you, that even “WHITE AMERICA” clearly that’s who the label heads was reaching for DO NOT LIKE LIKE THIS CHICK.

Just watch Jimmy Kimmel when KREAYSHAWN was on their. look at the crowd reaction.

    10. The article says Kreayshawn’s album was only available digitally the first week. I’m not really familiar with digital sales, but judging by most of the reactions on here, 3900 in digital sales is pretty low.

    11. I find it weird that the “Hip Hop Album Sales” post always gets a lot of comments from people who know nothing about album sales.

    12. I guess Tech N9ne “flopped” right? Nah, that’s not how it works.. your sales have to be able to pay your label and payback all that advertisement.. some of these dudes up here just did interviews and went to radio stations.. that’s uhh.. free? Bet they pocket plenty.

      1. Indie deal you get straight money so int he the in you get paid more the only thing a major is there for is to take care of all the heavy lifting. if you know what I mean

      1. ^^^

Crooked I seems cool & likable to me, just a laid back dude, never talks shit or complains about anything. Royce & Joey are the ones who really seem like assholes

    13. Saying stupid stuff about Tech is just ridiculous. I’m not gonna waste time stating facts because a hater is gonna hate regardless. & I don’t like dudes music or movement the least bit. Let’s just say there should be more Tech’s. He’s in a better position than let’s say, Nas. Nas stans don’t attack me I’m just saying. Tech is winning. A person like Nas gets a lets say 400,000 advance while the album, touring, etc., generates an excess of $5million. Tech see’s every cent of his money

    14. not defending kreayshawn but what about single sales, gucci gucci got her name out there so you think she could repay sony with sales off that?

    15. WTF are pple talking bout Tech being on an indie label. He is the label. He owns it or at least part of it. Tech winning. Your fav rapper losing. Face it.

    16. LMAO Sony tested Kreayshawn’s market buy only making her album available digitally. Digital albums are unlimited resources, it’s just a file it doesn’t cost them any money.

But now they know that she has no fans and physical album sales will flop hard.

      1. Isnt Itunes the biggest retailer of music these days anyway??

Tech N9nes album was digital only, outside of ordering a physical copy directly from his website that came autographed. But EBAH isnt available in stores at all, yet still managed to do 14K.

So either way you look at it Kreay’s shit was a disaster

    17. Damn, Cruel Summer did numbers for a compilation album. Them shits rarely sell more than 100k so over 200K is a big deal. The album is dope to so it’s to be expected. Tech 9 still doing his thing too. Yall can hate all you want but that man recoups all his money. All your favorite rappers wish they had the situation he has. Believe me. He calls his own shots and even runs his own tours. Dude is paid up so quit hating and pay attention to the music because what he does or doesn’t make will not help you pay your house note.

OH AND CHECK THAT NEW GANGSTA GIBBS OUT. I’M TELLING YOU BFK IS CERTIFIED. GIBBS IS FOR REAL.

      1. Yeah, I love watching the haters try and discredit a man who has no corprate puppet master pulling his strings and yet still makes his way on to the forbes list

Tech N9ne’s Life is the American Dream, I wish I could do whatever the fuck I wanted and still make millions

    18. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FLOPPING WHEN YOU’RE AN INDIE ARTIST. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEADS TECH9 HATERS LOL.

HE SEES ALL OF HIS MONEY ASAP. CONCERTS = STRAIGHT TO HIS ACCOUNT. ALBUMS = STRAIGHT TO HIS ACCOUNT.

EVEN IF HE ONLY SELLS 5000 COPIES, HE MADE 50,000 DOLLARS OFF IT.

    19. First seen tech nine in that BET cypher, hes one of the better new artists out there along with Slaughterhouse. Hope tech gets signed soon. I think Joe Ortiz is holding back Slaughterhouse, and Eminem probably shouldn’t have put him in the group, he’s the weakest link in Slaughterhouse along with Yellow Wolf. Rick Ross, Good Music and 2 Chainz only sold that much because there illuminati. Don’t know who Brother Ali is but he obviously flopped, probably another wack up & comer. Can’t wait for Good Kid, Made City, will be the next album I purchase

    20. LMFAO!!!! G.O.O.D. MUSIC IS WINNING. THE ACTUAL NUMBERS THEY DID IS 217K. HIPHOPDX GOT IT WRONG. THESE NIGGAS DONE OUTSOLD YOUNG MONEY’S ALBUM AND BOTH MMG ALBUMS.

      #GOODMUSIC

      1. Young Money’s album came out in 2009, a lot of people didn’t even know who Drake and Nicki were.

If they drop an album today it’ll do half a mil.

      2. You got to be a GOOD stan if you think YMCMB wouldn’t sell more than this. Lame niggas comparing Cruel Summer to something that came out 3 years ago lol.

    21. LOOOOOOL….the people hv spoken.Kreayshawn is officially a flop.HipHop aint that dead yet…i mean it is dead if 2Chains,Waka flava and gucci mane can release albums and pple actually buy em…but it aint that dead yet.

    22. Niggas keep hatin. Ross bout to go gold. Your favorite rapper the monkey aint gon do shit wit his album. That shit has no buzz, no hits nothin. The snitch career been over. Rozay keep winnin while all you bitch made niggas keep cryin bout ur lover soon to be goin double wood with his new album.

      Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. neither rick ross nor 50 give a fuck about that shit anymore, your caught up in a beef that got played out 3 years ago. Tell tale sign of a loser

      2. @anonymous

Suck a dick bitch. 50 the one sayin he endin careers and shit. Ross stay the hottest rapper int eh game. Btw Rozay did way better than the honky’s flop Slaughterhouse to. All you niggas who ridin on Ems dick or 50 dick know when it comes to real niggas, they shit aint relevant.

        Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. Yes, it just been confirmed…..the album i officially a flop…no more cd’s will be produced and we will be selling the remaining copies at a heavily discounted rate….Note to Slaughter House: Stop It…..just stop….

    23. Compilation album don’t usual sell, so the good music album did pretty well for first week numbers. Tech N9ne is independent, so he didn’t flop but kreayshawn is a different story lol.

    24. Where are those YMCMB stans (So Icy, dentaldamboy) who said the G.O.O.D. Music album will flop? What do you have to say about this?

      1. It DID flop fuckin dumbass. We Are Young Money made it to #1 EASY and had Every Girl, Bedrock AND Steady Mobbin as SMASH HIT SINGLES unlike these gay niggas with only Mercy. HAHAHA!

        YMCMB!

      2. Nothing you said is true. YM album only made it at #2 with less sales 1st week. And Bedrock was the only hit out the whole album, everything else flopped. Cruel Summer outsold YM in 1st week sales and has better music.

    25. Is that Compilation worth my $? Anyone?? I was excited about it just so hesitant nowadays to but albums unless I know it will be quality like that WU-Block will be…

      1. If you’ve been keeping up with the singles (Cold, Don’t Like, Clique, Mercy, New God Flow) then there won’t be too much new material on the album for you. I will say that if you’re gonna buy any album this year, buy the Cruel Summer. Kanye’s new sound is classic, although the tracks without him don’t match up as well as the others.

      2. ^^^ don’t listen to this dumbass. If you’re gonna buy any album this year it should be Kendrick’s album and Life Is Good.

      3. I’ve been rocking with Nas since day one, but Life is Good is petrified doo-doo. It’s like the nigga went of his way to select the shittiest beats he could get his hands on….thumbs all the way the fuck down….

      4. @1st anon I’ve been meaning to peep K.Dot’s shit I’ve been staying away from new jacks on purpose to get a clean perspective the first time I get to hear them so I’ll prolly buy that one.

@2nd anon that’s EXACTLY what I was scared of with Nas I grew up with him and I know how he shifts from album to album

      5. “I know how he shifts from album to album”

In order to sell. Dude’s the fakest ever. Fucking lame ass Drake copycat.

      1. No, it just proves that he has existing fans that are willingly to go out and spend money on their favorite’s artists product instead of internet cocksuckers who only download.

      1. Nah, the Urban Christian movement is virtually an untapped market…a market where people (parents) will actually purchase the album and support the artist, really, it’s not crazy at all….makes perfect sense….

    26. WTF Tech 9 Did good numbers. Its a Fuggin EP on an Indie, That he’s the president of.

Im not even a Fan of dude. But C’MON MAN!

The Ep had like 5 songs how much did u exspect him to sell?

    27. G.O.O.D music is L.A.M.E

YMCMB was the first label to come out with a group album and then MMG and GOOD music copied dem. It still doesn’t matter bcuz YMCMB sold a million copies first week !

      YMCMB >>>>>>>>>> ALL

      1. Actually they weren’t the first to drop a group compilation. LOL I.E.(Ruff Ryders, Bad Boy, Rocafella, etc) You dudes on this site are hilarious!!! Do your research before you post comments

      2. wow … what a hater. Lil Wayne is the one who invented hip hop, so how could those guys have albums before YMCMB ? old dudes on this site always making up dumb shit. Do YOUR research !

      3. You are 14 years of age forealz, Suave House, No Limit, Sick Wid It, and a plethora of other record labels have been releasing compilation albums for years….Cash Money even dropped a comp entitled Gorilla Warfare in 99…Bone’s Mo Thug compilation….come on youngin…

      4. ^^^ what the heck is Cash Money ? jeepers creepers you old guys are always getting shit wrong. Its called YOUNG MONEY not Cash money, you dumbo !

      5. Dumbass. Cash Money is a real label which Wayne is signed to. Young Money is Wayne’s label which has Drake, Nicki, Tyga, and a whole bunch of tax write-offs. YMCMB is Young Money, Cash Money combined. You got the internet; do your research, dumbass.

      6. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS ???

        CAN’T YOU GUYS TELL I’M A FUCKING TROLL ???

ARE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE REALLY THAT FUCKING NAIVE ??? HOLY CRAP. I WAS GONNA KEEP DOING IT BUT AT THIS RATE IT WOULD TAKE YOU ALL DAY TO REALIZE IM A FAKE FAN.

      1. FIRST EMINEM AND JIMMY SPLIT THE DOUGH AND THE REST IS GOING TO BE SPLIT IN 4 WAYS, THAT MEANS ALMOST NO MONEY FOR THE FLOPHOUSE AND IN 2 YEARS, THEY ALL WILL BE BROKE FOREVER.

      2. LIKE THAT YOU HOPE THAT FOUR BITCHES ARE GETTING ALL THE MONEY AND EMINEM, JIMMY, ALL THE FEATURES GUESTS AND PRODUCERS DID THEIR WORK FOR FREE.

    28. Cruel Summer had what, 6 platinum selling artists on the it? And Mannie Fresh on the boards! And they couldn’t even drum up a lil bitch ass gold record debut! Bad reviews killed this album, I’ll be surprised if it ever goes gold… (I say all of this as I am illegally downloading it from the interwebs)

      1. Only artist in this group I could see paying my $ for another album is Big Sean. I think it’s safe to say everyone else is past their prime, meaning they are all rich bastards and I don’t give a shit what they have to say. Listening to it now, not my cup of tea.

      2. HAHA! Mannie Fresh is a disloyal, outdated, ninja turtle lookin ass nigga. He left YMCMB aka The Empire of Hip Hop and is now kissing Kanyes butthole to try and be relevant again. Pusha T is a fag. Common is a bald ass fag, Kanye is a fagster and Big Sean is a puss cake. Weezy is KIGN of HIP HOP

        YMCMB!

      3. Mercy is a single that sells for $2. Cruel Summer is an album that sells for $12. Would you rather sell a million singles or a million albums? Point is that this is the most star-studded album to come out… ever? And need I remind you that Adele’s album went diamond so it’s not like people aren’t buying mainstream records.

    29. CRUEL SUMMER IS THE CLASSIC AND G.O.O.D. MUSIC IS THE NEW BEATLES. I REALLY LIKE THAT ALBUM AND I HOPED IT WILL SELL MUCH MORE BUT IT’S STILL THIRD BEST FIRST WEEK SALES. ESPECIALLY THE SONG WITH 2 CHAINZ ON ARE STRAIGHT CLASSICS, PRODUCERS DID THEIR THANG, NO MOS DEF, SO IT’S MAINLY A GOOD ALBUM. ONLY THING WHICH UPSETS ME IS THAT BITCH ASS NIGGA PUSHA T RAPPING SOME OF HIS FAKE ASS STORIES. THIS NIGGA NEVER EVER TOUCHED A SINGLE GRAM OF COCAINE.

      1. M.a.a.d City will be nothing more than a BIG ASS FLOP! Wayne’s I Am Not a Human Being 2 will sell far more with far more quality music. Dafuq outta here with calling Kendicks album a classic dumbass nigga

        YMCMB!

      2. Man, fuck old ass Lil Wayne. That nigga is an old man past his prime. Kendrick Lamar will deliver one of the best albums of the year. Kendrick is the future of hip-hop.

      3. ^^ he turns 30 tomorrow idiot. 30+ = old ass nigga. i was a huge fan of wayne until now, but now he’s old. i’ll still bump tha carter albums and the dedication mixtapes.

    30. I’m a fan of quality music, regardless of who puts it out, but to all of those who are pointing to sales reflecting anything to do with YMCMB / MMG / G.O.O.D is either a troll or a stan. Every year the most critically acclaimed hip-hop albums put out by artists receive very few sales. G.O.O.D music deserve a little credit for attempting to make original mainstream music as opposed to following already established formula’s.

      1. Fuck old ass Lil Wayne. That nigga is an old man past his prime. Kendrick Lamar will deliver one of the best albums of the year. Kendrick is the future of hip-hop.

      2. “Every year the most critically acclaimed hip-hop albums put out by artists receive very few sales”

That’s because most so-called Hip Hop fans are the first to download.

    31. HAHAHAHAH!!! “Cruel Summer” was in every sense of the word SHIT! These old-ass boring niggas made it to #2 hahaha! “We Are Young Money” was #1 and had the most ground-breaking smash hit singles ever! Young Money is a REAL hip hop group. G.O.O.D Music is a fuckin Nursing Home with a tall skinny nigga that says Boiiii all the time. Weezy is KIGN of HIP HOP! Yall cant take the throne!

      YMCMB!

      1. You’re retarded. Young Money’s album came in at #2 also and sold less in its 1st week. Besides, Cruel Summer shits on We Are Young Money anyday and has better music..

        Cruel Summer>>>>>>>>We Are Young Money

      2. YEAH fuckin right dumbass! We Are Young Money came in at NUMBER FUCKING 1. STOP being in denial you fuckin Ye Cock sucker!

        YMCMB!

    32. Damn, I feel kind of bad for Kreayshawn. I wanted her to flop just so Sony and other major labels would get it through their heads that Youtube Views alone dont mean somebody is gonna make hit records. But I aint wanna see her flop that bad, smh, thats sad

    33. Damn ain’t noone selling shit these days. These niggas total numbers, niggas used to do in 1 week on the regular that’s just sad.

    34. “These old-ass boring niggas made it to #2 hahaha! “We Are Young Money” was #1″

      Cruel Summer= #2 on Billboard 200, 217k 1st week
We Are Young Money=#9 on Billboard 200, 142k 1st week

These “old-ass boring niggas” sold more than YM in the first week.

      1. Going by this rate, he will be gold by 2025.

Dudes struggles to get decent sales and that’s yall GOAT?

Internet praise = completely worthless in the real world.

    35. Slobberhouse needs to quit…now. Also I was really expecting more units for Cruel Summer. Atleast over 300,000. But then again the there was only like 12 songs right. They should’ve atleast did 20-22. Well whatever.

    36. #41. nuff said. Probably the only album on there that didn’t need a parental advisory sticker and still did 100k+ in 3wks

    37. yeah niggaz, remembah me? just wanted 2 stop by and say congratz 2 da g.o.o.d. muzik family 4 sellin 200k in da 1st week. it may not be #1 on da chartz but there da #1 crew along with roc nation. and oh yeah, they charted higher and sold more than dat gay azz we are young money album. look it up fagz. cruel summer album of da year bitchez!

roc nation & g.o.o.d. muzik >>>>>>>> ymcmb. ain’t nothin fuckin with this clique, clique, clique.

p.s. and congratz 2 da g.o.o.d. muzik affiliate 2 chainz. based on a tru story is fire and deserved to sell that much. tru!

    38. Its a shame good music and good hip hop music dont sell no more. Those numbers are pathetic. Maybe niggas need to go to Adele for a feature cuz the fat bitch the only one that can actually sell records anymore. sMH

    39. none of those deserve to be in the top; I can think of a bunch who are so much better. Nas, Phonte (little brother), The Roots, Common, Eshon Burgandy, Lecrae, Mos Def and the list goes on.

    40. it jus gets harder & harder to move units nowadays. Aint Mercy the highest selling rap track of ’12 right now? but the album only sells 200k? Tough era in hip-hop & music overrall right now.

      1. Its not hard if you release good music. That Mumford & Sons album just did over half a mil in the first week. The sales you see are the result of almost a decade of bullshit rap music being promoted.

Rick ross = the new biggie

      Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    42. man yall hatin ass niggas need to fall back Wayne is a ledgend in the making look at all the shit he has done at his age the man has an empire there is clearly nothing else for him 2do he just watchin these young cats do their thing Wayne will always have that title best rapper alive but let the man live he been givn yall crazy bars for yall 2 remember its time for him 2 take a break and live and for dat nigga who said K dot suck u fckin trippn K dot and J cole are two of the illest young lyricist out there do your homework faggot.

    43. Waynes going to be remembered as the next pac. How can you not award him that right. Look how much he has done for hip hop. Hip Hop album says have been on slow decline, yet Wayne has been the small breath of air keeping it alive and bringing in money by bringing in ATTENTION.

Attention is what keeps music or anything else alive. He branches out and does other things than music. He features on other artists of different genres albums. Pac would be proud of Wayne if he were still alive and I even believe he would agree to sign to Young Money records and help Wayne build even bigger empire.

If Wayne were to die, he WOULD become the same vessel of icon as Pac was and still is to this day. Look how many people bite Waynes style same as they did pac(Nas, Ja Rule). Yall know its true but are just to afraid to admit it.

      #YMCMB!!!

    44. I never understood why Slaughterhouse gets so much hate. As for the album, SH fans can agree compared to their first album, EP, and mixtape it wasn’t on par, couple bangers but not that good. If you don’t like them i can respect that but at least explain why tho. I can’t half these niggas seriously with all that “LAUGHTERHOUSE” shit even tho i know a couple of ya are gonna reply saying that shit. In terms of lyricism, metaphors, and punchlines crooked I alone can demolish almost any rapper.

      1. its not just about skill anymore if you wanna blow up, its about image, sellin a lifestyle, mass appeal, marketing, all that good shit

      2. co-sign the above. “Only real hip-hop heads will go out and cop the album to listen to what cats are rhyming about” the rest are music lovers. Marketing helps ALOT. I imagine SH were targeted at the hip hop community and not the entire music population.

      3. LOON “BLEW UP” & HIS CAREER DON’T MATCH UP 2 MOS DEF’S CATALOG

DORROUGH “BLEW UP” BUT TUNG TWISTA STILL HERE

I’M BLASTIN SHOTGUN SHELLS U CLOWNS WAVIN THEM BUTTERKNIVES IN THE AIR

      4. “In terms of lyricism, metaphors, and punchlines crooked I alone can demolish almost any rapper.”

And couldn’t do one half decent, worthwile track to save his life.

    45. cuz LAUGHTERHOUSE are unlistenable cornballs AND hyped out the ass thanks to white internet nerds + Interscope payola, though that spigot is now turned OFF…

      1. Clown, shut the fuck up. Did one of them cats do something to you personally cause thats a lil too much hate for people you’ve never met.

Yes, there overrated, washed up & the album sucked….. But you overdose on the negativity, like you wish failure on people who you have never in your life met, that’s some loser ass shit, lol

      2. LMMFAO

    47. I swear, if Kreayshawn’s album dropped two months after Gucci Gucci, it probably would’ve sold. She doesn’t know timing for shit

    48. the same kids spending money on G.O.O.D music and rick ross’ cd are the ones calling slaughterhouse and tech nine flops.. I can guarantee that. You guys want to judge artists on sales? well news flash then faggots, Eminem is the boss if that’s the case. No wonder you hate on everything to do with him, including Slaughterhouse, you’re jealous… Why doesn’t YMCB or GOOD music diss slaughterhouse if they’re such failures so we can all see what happens.. lets make rap interesting again. + when eminems next solo album arrives you know its going to clown all these albums sales, and he won’t be on some materialistic bullshit aimed towards little kids either.. fuking lifeles haters. especially that suicidal loser whos commenting multiple times on every single slaughterhouse article, just end your shit already and do everyone a favor.

      1. im guessing your a slaughterhouse fan…well dope rappers but lets face it, neither of their albums came with that raw shit a head wants. Some weird lyricist pop hybrid album doesent seem to work. pz.

    49. THAT ALBUM DMX MADE IS REALLY GOOD !! YOU SUCKAS JUST CAN’T COMPREHEND THE LEVEL THAT DUDE IS ON. THESE KIDS OF TODAY ALL THEY WANNA HEAR IS WACK ASS 2CHAINS AND LIL WAYNE
