    Russell Simmons has announced plans for Hip-Hop consumers. According to the rap mogul, the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network will use Hip-Hop in an effort to register 10,000 new voters in Philadelphia.

    Past HSAN efforts in Philly include voter registrations in 2003 and 2004.

    Simmons and the HSAN have gained support from such political figures as Mayor John F. Street and Governor Ed Rendell.

    The HSAN was founded in 2001 by Russell Simmons and Dr. Benjamin Chavis in order to reach people through the power of Hip-Hop in an effort to address important problems the world faces.

    On a related note, Russell Simmons’ brother Rev Run has made his family famous on MTV’s Run’s House. Rev’s daughter Vanessa will now be even more famous as she will pose for a popular men’s magazine.

    Vanessa, an aspiring actress and model has recently singed on with the Ford Modeling Agency. She is the Rev’s oldest daughter. Aside from being on Run’s hit show, the 21 year old will soon be seen in the pages of Maxim Magazine.
