As previously reported here at HHDX, Ras Kass did not release his highly anticipated 3rd LP, “Van Gogh,” for various reasons. He has since headed back to the studio to nearly redo the entire album. It has been confirmed that Havoc, Scott Storch and Timbaland will all be lending beats. Ras always sounds better over east coast beats so lets hope that Havoc hooks him up with some other grimy New York cats…Jay-Z and R Kelly have started recording their album, “The Best Of Both Worlds.” Apparently, 8 tracks have been completed…
The Beastie Boys are in the studio working on their first LP in 6 years…Rock of Heltah Skeltah fame is currently working on his solo LP entitled “Rock Man Uncensored.” Production includes Dr Dre, Scott Storch, Rockwilder, DJ Lethal and Ruck. Speaking of Lethal, the album will drop on his label “Lethal Dose Records.”…Kurupt and Tash have apparently formed a group (in addition to Vapors, the Liks and DPG group!?). Word is that they will call themselves DNA…Speaking of highly anticipated LPs, Planet Asia’s Interscope debut is nearing completion. “Life As It Is” will feature Rasco and Ghostface and beats from Hi-Tek, Pete Rock, Battlecat, Super Dave West and Roddy Rod.
