Gunna has clarified his relationship with Young Thug‘s YSL label after he was accused of snitching on his mentor and collaborator.

Gunna’s status with the Atlanta-based label has been in question ever since he controversally accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case, securing his release from jail.

The “Fukumean” rapper has now confirmed his label situation in the new Spotify documentary A Day in the Life with Gunna, saying: “I’m still signed to YSL. I’m still providing. I’m still pushing. No paperwork has been changed.”

Gunna’s last two albums, A Gift & A Curse and One of Wun, were both released through YSL in partnership with 300 Entertainment and arrived after his plea deal.

Gunna’s comments come shortly after he opened up about his relationship with Young Thug, who remains on trial for various racketeering charges.

Asked about the current nature of their relationship in an interview with XXL, he answered semi-vaguely: “It’s the same. It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship.”

For his part, Thug has remained largely silent on the subject but did appear to side with Lil Baby, who has been an outspoken critic of Gunna’s, in a social media post earlier this week.

In a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter) from behind bars, Thug wrote: “whateva wham say goes,” referring to Baby’s nickname.

Despite being labeled my many as a “rat,” Gunna vehemently denied snitching on his label boss following his release from jail in December 2022.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” he said in a statement.

He has also received somewhat unexpected support from Thug’s father Jeffery Williams Sr., who defended Gunna in an interview with radio host Infamous Sylvia last year.

“I love Gunna,” he said. “Let me try to help the attorney clarify that a little simpler. Gunna hasn’t done anything whatsoever that can hurt us on this case. Period.”

When asked about Lil Baby dissing Gunna over his plea deal, the older Williams responded: “He needs to shut the fuck up because he doesn’t know what’s going on. He’s going off what he heard.”
