Gmac Cash has issued a scathing diss track, except it’s not aimed at one person, but instead to those responsible for his city’s infrastructure and their lack of taste.

On Tuesday (April 19), a new sign that spells out “Detroit” in big, green letters was erected along the metropolis’ eastbound I-94 highway. The very next day, Cash dropped a song titled “Detroit Sign” that clocks in at just under a minute. On it, he criticizes and rejects the new installation, which Detroiters expected would be similar to the “Hollywood” landmark in Los Angeles.

It look like they got these fucking letters from Toys ‘R’ Us, bruh. The Detroit sign look inflatable,” he prefaces his brutal yet hilarious bars.

Now, I was lookin’ at this shit, I was like, ‘Damn’/ You prolly not gon’ see this shit when you on a plane/ All I wanna know, how much we paid for this?/ ‘Cause, real talk, man, shit, I could’ve made this shit,” he raps on the joint.

He continues: “I thought our sign was gon’ look like Hollywood/ That’s probably why they put this bitch right by the hood/ Thought we was ’bout to get some shit, they really just ho’d us/ Then gave us a sign in Times New Roman.”

This is far from the rapper’s first time in the headlines. Gmac Cash released a hysterical track about the viral Alabama riverboat fight last year, for which a number of A-list rappers showed him love.

The brawl in question took place at Montgomery Riverfront Park in early August of 2023 and appeared to be racially motivated, as several white and Black people were seen going at each other on the dock.

The internet immediately began having plenty of fun with the incident as footage of it began making the rounds online, but the Detroit MC took it one step further by immortalizing the mayhem with his rhymes on “Montgomery Brawl.”

Recapping the wild scuffle via his comedic storytelling, he gave a special shoutout to the two of the Black people in the video: one who swam to join the fight and another who smashed a foldable chair over a white woman’s head.

“Cuz came out the water like, ‘Let’s get it crackin’/ Unc came with the chair like, ‘I got some action’/ Cuz came no short like, ‘I got Sebastian/’ Even the women getting hit like, ‘Damn, what happened?'” he raps.

“Seen a couple of them boys go night-night/And we got the first Black man to swim to a fight/ If you mad at this song, don’t mention me/ But fuck that, that chair going down in history.”
