GloRilla may be a big star, but she’s still just like a lot of us — she gets weepy over Beyoncé.

In a new episode of Angel Reese’s Unapologetically Angel podcast, Big Glo recalled when she got to hang out with Beyoncé (not for the first time) at Michael Rubin’s July 4 White Party this year, after being prompted by Reese to recall what led to the photo of Bey, Glo and Megan Thee Stallion together that night.

“Me and Meg, we had just came from the upstairs part [of the party] and we’re going to the downstairs club, so I was drunk. I’m walking, and I just feel the tap on my shoulder. I look, it was Beyoncé,” Glo began.

“She was like, ‘Y’all come over here.’ I’m like, ‘Come over here, to your section?’ Her security was standing on business. They weren’t trying to let us come over there. But her family were like ‘Nah, she said she could come.’

“I was nervous. I was just standing there like, I don’t know what the fuck to say to Beyoncé… She said, ‘You could sit down.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God!’ I can’t help it — tears start coming down my face, ’cause I really love her that bad.”

Beyoncé, for her part, shared her love for Glo in a recent interview.

In an email back-and-forth with GQ that was published last month, Bey shared what she’s been listening to these days.

“I love and respect all of the female singers-songwriters who are out right now.… Raye, Victoria Monét, Sasha Keable, Chloe x Halle, and Reneé Rapp,” she began, before moving on to Hip Hop.

“I love Doechii and GloRilla, and I just heard That Mexican OT, he’s from Houston…. He goes hard!” she continued. “I really like ‘Please Please Please’ by Sabrina Carpenter, and I think that Thee Sacred Souls and Chappell Roan are talented and interesting.”

The superstar admitted that she spends “most of my time” listening to classic r&b.

“[L]ike Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and music from artists on the Stax label,” she specified, shouting out the documentary Stax: Soulsville USA.
