GloRilla was brought to tears by a surprise message from her father, who shared how proud he was of his rap star daughter.

During an episode of the Tamron Hall Show that aired on Wednesday (April 3), the Memphis native was given an unexpected gift in the form of a video from her dad.

In the clip, Glo’s father Edwin C. Woods Sr. says: “I’m the father of GloRilla, otherwise known as my baby, Gloria Woods. I am very proud of my daughter.

“She has risen from humble beginnings to going to the White House. I am extremely proud of Gloria and may she have many, many more days of success.”

After being shown the video, GloRilla began tearing up, clearly touched by the heartfelt words.

“I love my dad so much,” she said. “He’s one of the closest people to my heart.”

GloRilla’s family ties also recently made headlines when she revealed that she has a surprise relative in the rap game.

During a February appearance on the Past Your Bedtime podcast, the “F.N.F.” hitmaker revealed that she and Lil Uzi Vert are related.

“That’s my cousin,” she said when asked about the Philadelphia rapper, much to the shock of host Fannita Leggett. “Yeah, that’s my real cousin.”

When Leggett quizzed Big Glo why she and Uzi have yet to release a song together, she replied: “We actually working on it. We had started. We gon’ get it together. Well, we never started on a song but we gotta get it together.”

GloRilla’s Hip Hop family tree doesn’t stop there either. Last month, Cardi B confirmed during an interview with Big Boy that she and the Memphis rapper are cousins, as Glo had mentioned offhandedly back in 2022.

The topic came up because Big Boy was teasing Cardi for not admitting to him in a prior interview that she had done a song with Shakira when the veteran DJ asked her about it.

“Did you do [a song] with GloRilla because she’s a liar as well?” he jokingly asked, referencing their hit collaboration “Tomorrow 2.”

“I didn’t lie!” Cardi responded. “That’s my cousin!”

Cardi then broke down their familial connection, saying that her grandfather, who she claimed “used to push weight,” had at one point lived in Tennessee — for reasons, she implied, related to that business.

“[H]e didn’t really told my grandma that he was dealing with somebody over there,” she explained. “He had a kid out there, and that’s GloRilla’s dad. So that’s what make us related.”

The Bronx native went on to explain that she and Glo had only discovered the connection after they met and realized they had a lot in common.

“I asked her, ‘You just feel like we’re too much alike? You get my jokes and everything,’” Cardi continued.

“She’s just like, ‘Yeah. There’s something funny. Something really weird.’ So we just [started asking around].”
