Fredo Bang has long had a contentious relationship with NBA YoungBoy, but even after seeming to make peace late last year, Bang has suggested that their beef has gotten in the way of his relationship with another rapper, Rod Wave.

Fredo took to social media recently to talk to his fans. During the live stream, he revealed that his friendship with Wave had gone cold.

“Tell Rod Wave — he seen me fuckin’ write him. I know he best friends with dude now. That why he stopped texting me,” Bang said.

Fans quickly guessed that the “dude” was NBA YoungBoy, who has a guest appearance from Wave on his new album Decided 2. Watch the video below.

Fredo Bang and NBA YoungBoy’s issues first became public knowledge in the summer of 2020. Bang jokingly referred to YoungBoy as his “son” when they were dropping music on the same day.

NBA YoungBoy didn’t take kindly to the reference, firing back on Instagram by writing: “Ima catch you & bang yo scary ass.”

He also called Fredo a “pure bitch” and bragged about being able to sleep with his mother while declaring: “I ain’t even in competition with you.”

Then, that September, Fredo was involved in a scuffle with an NBA YoungBoy fan after a show in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

In early 2023, Bang clarified that the beef wasn’t that serious during an appearance on Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast.

“I personally don’t got a problem with him,” Bang said. “It’s more of… people don’t fuck with people, and they’re in the main people ear type of shit. And muthafuckas don’t know how to be grown, to be a man and talk for themself. I don’t have a problem with him, we just don’t fuck with each other.”

Many people thought the beef came to a definitive end this past December, when YoungBoy and Fredo took part in the same holiday toy drive in Baton Rouge.
