Frank Ocean To Write In “Remote Locations” Over The Next Two Years, Discusses Writing A Book

In anticipation of his big night at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Frank Ocean has given a rare interview to the New York Times about what he’s got in store for new material.

During the interview, the Odd Future crooner says that he plans on shipping off to Shanghai after the ceremony with his equipment and some new recordings to write “in remote locations for the next two years.”

He also touched on a book that he previously mentioned in an interview, but remained generally mum about how it’s shaping up. “I’ve started writing the book,” he said. “You can say that. It’s fiction, and it’s about brothers. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Ocean, who made a buzz for himself with his breakout free album Nostalgia, Ultra, had a strong debut last summer with Channel Orange, which debuted at No. 2 on the charts with 131,000 copies sold based on digital sales alone. It was recently certified gold.

The singer will perform at this Sunday’s Grammys, where he is nominated for a handful of awards including Album of the Year.
