Fat Joe may have seen a ton of success in the rap game, but that doesn’t mean he wants his children to follow in his footsteps.

The Bronx-bred MC was a guest at the United Masters x Earn Your Leisure panel at Art Basel in Miami over the weekend, where he got into a conversation about this four children. While noting he wants his daughter to become an accountant, Joey Crack revealed one of his sons wants to be a rapper – and he’s not with it.

“You know my son, he’s trying to be a rapper. He’s aight,” Joe laughed. “I said, ‘Listen, if [any of your uncles] tells you that you’re going to be a big rapper when I die and takes your money to make an album, they’re full of shit. Keep the money, buy a business, do something. Do not take the money I leave you to be a rapper. That’s not for you.'”

Fat Joe’s oldest son, Joey, has autism and is wheelchair-bound. His father previously referred to him as the “Don Of The Family” in an interview with The View last year.

“He inspires me. He’s such a blessing in our life, he’s almost like an angel,” the rapper said. “It’s the gift that keeps giving, little Joey, and I’m so proud of him.”

Fat Joe notably raised Joey at just 19 years old as a single father with the help of his parents, and in December 2021 reflected on that intense fatherhood journey on Joey’s birthday.

“Life is full of surprises,” he wrote. “I was just a kid at 19 years old when i had Joey. It was one of the scariest days of my life. Doctors said he wouldn’t be normal and kids like this are hard to deal with. Not once did me and my family think of giving up on Joey. He’s my jr. it’s a lot of work it’s a constant sacrifice that parents make to keep their children happy and most of all safe. I’ve always kept Joey out of the limelight cause they’re bad elements out there i never wanted him exposed to.”

He continued: “Joey has accomplished above and beyond & i also believe he keeps my parents alive cause they love him sooooooo much. How do you tell someone who’s given you so much joy in life thank you???. How do you tell your best friend and most loyal one thank you??. I am so proud of Joey he’s my heart & soul. I love you Joey, we all love you Joey, thank you for being my Biggest blessing in life! Happy Birthday Joey, God bless you.”

Fat Joe also wore blue in honor of World Autism Day last April, and again thanked his son for being the light of his life.
