Eminem’s Greatest Hits Album “Curtain Call” Goes 7x Platinum

Eminem’s first greatest hits album Curtain Call: The Hits, released in 2005, has sold more than 7 million copies and was certified 7x Platinum by the RIAA on Friday (October 21).

The album holds Em’s most popular cuts including his debut single “My Name Is” off The Slim Shady LP and “The Way I Am” off his 2000 project The Marshall Mathers LP.

The project also included a live version of “Stan,” a term that has become synonymous in pop culture for insane, hardcore fanatics (i.e. Beyhive) and the unreleased song “Fack.”

Both The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002’s The Eminem Show are certified Diamond by the RIAA. The 44-year-old rap vet has so far garnered five #1 singles and six #1 albums throughout his career.

Slim Shady also announced he’ll be releasing a new album soon while unleashing his new song “Campaign Speech,” which addresses police brutality and calls out Donald Trump.

        1. why are you guys focused on waiting for an Em album to shred to pieces? just go to any Young Thug or Gucci Mane album to do that to.

      1. I hope you’re kidding, ha.
Em’s lyrics in his songs are wayyy too harsh to be considered pop music. Even in his most “pop-like” songs like Love The Way You Lie, he raps “If she ever tries to fucking leave again, I’ma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire” at the end. Please explain how that is kid-friendly, pop music haha. According to critics like you, Em fell off with songs like that for being too poppy.

    1. I literally hated every commercial parody song he ever did… just lose it (corny), azz like that (or any song with an accent got on my nerves), without me (dr dre even look like wtf he’s on in the video lol), and etc. I think of course the shock value and the time he came out (wrestling terms, attitude era) made him cool to kids and teens but personally I think it hurt his career as a whole. I don’t relate to wanting to kill my mom for giggles and never cared about the pop stars of the 90s or early 00s. I feel like a lot of ppl think that way to and that’s why he’s not respected as much as he’s probably should a lot of times. People don’t wanna get him on a song to feel like they made it; they do it because they know he got a biggest pop base of all rappers and is an easy sell. Just being real..

      1. Bruh yea I agree, he had some stupid songs to promote his otherwise album, I’m glad some rappers didn’t follow this blueprint, just stick to your best songs as main singles!

    2. Campaign speech killed my hype for his new album. When he’s trying to be the rappiest rapper and uses that cypher flow it kinda takes away from his delivery. Idk I hope I’m wrong and this new one is fire. 7X

      1. Campaign Speech isn’t even a single – it’s a freestyle/lyrical layout with minimal production…gah damn. Most of you are having extreme difficulties comprehending that, and think that it’s supposed to be a single on his next album or some shit.

    3. His music is really corny and he is the epitome of a sell out. I bet non of his work before 1998 is on this album, all his independent good music. It’s crazy how most people don’t have an ear for good music and they like what everybody else likes. 8mile was such a great movie but he made sure his career became cookie cutter pop music which was far from his roots. Hey at least he’s rich but he got none of my loot.

      1. seeing as how this album is a “greatest hits” album of songs that were his either his best commercially up to that point in his career or most well-known (excluding Fack), of course none of his work before 1998 is going to be on the album. Yea, “true” rap/hip-hops fans may know his pre-1998 work, but that would not make any sense to make a greatest hits album of songs that the majority wouldn’t recognize. I’m sorry to break it to ya, but his money maker is his rap career, and like any of us who work to pay bills and eat, he has to do the same. That doesn’t mean he’s a sellout.

You can just go to YouTube and search for his early music if you want to listen to it, so quit whining. Also, I’m sure Em is just sitting in a corner pouting over some random person not spending any $$$ on his music hahah.

    4. most of you here know nothing about hip hop.. y’all here talking shit about em..hes the king of hip hop…lyricist like no other, to that fool calling his music corny…i guess your favorite rappers are young thug, g herbo, travis scott and all those choke like trap sounding niggas uh?

    5. Eminem is a sexest biggot i don’t know how people listen to his music, seriously have you ever heard what he says about women? Eminem is a disgusting man.

      1. he has three daughters and in a lot of his songs he explains how he really doesn’t believe what he is rapping about at times watch an interview with him in sometimes it is the exact same as acting and Eminem is awesome

    6. I’ve never met a person who is stupid enough to buy a “best of” album, and it ain’t like Eminem’s a “one hit wonder” so what sort of psychological trauma victims group therapy have been buying these CDs??

    7. There is stuff he writes and stuff he gets sent, beat and lyrics. It is all very surreal
And Eminem has wanted to retire for years now but he is that big and makes that much money for people around him. People and fans put a lot of pressure on him to continue
That is why he does not put much out now, you got to give him the respect he is due.
All the people getting all too self rightus about his lyrics it is just entertainment like a horror movie. there is a lot of stuff he dident write and just mc’d on.
People who are outside of the music industry would be surprised of how stuff is done specially when somebody makes big bucks.
He is a artist who has done his very best for people around him and he really has never got the respect and dues he really deserves.
