    1. despite what anti-eminem dudes are saying lately that recovery sucks and all, you can’t deny that he doesn’t deserve the success he’s having right now. from climbing to the top of hip hop to falling over his face after encore came out and his drug problems, for him to rise above those issues and make hits is amazing to me.

    2. i’m afraid kanye wont get grammys for my beautiful dark twisted fantasy, for this year, the album is too late (why dont they do it as the oscars are doin it? nominations for the whole year from jannuary – december??) and next year the album will be more or less forgotten because somebody like wayne gets double platinum

      1. Kanye would clean up , listen to that album??!!! The musical arrangement is ridiculous. His lyrics pretty much lost all his graduation fans, so complex. Too bad we have top wait til next year to see what happens.

      1. And weren’t they discussing their album at a Grammy reception or something like a year or two ago? Come on Academy. Wake up!

      2. I agree. Distant Relatives was a quality body of work, not just a few singles and filler like the rest of the albums on the list.

Unfortunately, nas and damien didn’t millions so the grammy’s logic that quality music=high sales wont help them.

If you put it against any of the other albums on the rap list it beats them hands down

    3. Can somebody please tell me how katy Perry gets nominated for best pop vocals? has anyone actually heard her sing? when she’s not in a studio she has no vocals so why the FUCK! would they nominate her.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

    4. Its amazing that the blueprint 3 came out so long ago and still gets nominated , the haters can’t keep Hov down.

      1. Blue print 3 came out soooo long ago,. hahah but Jay is the man so whatever, gonna be tuff to capture anything against shady though..they migth throw him a grammy just to even shit out.Hopefully drake wins something

    5. i dont even remember the last time i watched an award show. they base nominations on popularity and record sales, not in excellence or achievement in the task of creating music. eminem’s recovery is a very mediocre album (certainly better than relapse) but still i aint gonna waste my time watching the grammys. those would be hours of my life that i’d never get back. fuck mainstream (i never get tired of saying that)

    6. The Grammy’s are a fuckin’ joke…just a chance for a bunch of retards who don’t know shit about music to goo-ga over a bunch of garbage.
“The only grammy I give a fuck about are my parents’ mothers” -Evidence

    7. you all go on about how bad eminem is, but people that hate him still listen to him he knew that his whole career no publicity is bad

      1. ‘Ye will be nominated next year I reckon

Look at Jay-Z’s album Blueprint 3, that was released in like September 2009, and it’s up this year

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

    8. Grammys aren’t as distant from real rap as you’ve thought
Majority of the winners were great or near classic albums
One or two times they get it wrong with Rap but it isn’t horrendous or as biased as some peoople make it out to be
I have to admit im not a fan or even respect rappers because of any awards at all
just classic albums consistency and influence dictate my respect and Eminem has excelled in all categories and that’s why he will be forever be a rap elite and a favourite

      1. I’ll agree they do OK giving it to good artists, but when 80% of the Grammys have gone to either Jay-Z, Kanye, or Em, they are still getting wrong at least 90% of the time. I know those three are highly regarded artists, but to imply that they are the only ones in the last 7 years who have made hip-hop that deserved to be recognized as the best is absurd.

This year for example, Em and Jay have four of the 5 songs up for song of the year. That’s just plain bullshit, especially when you consider that Jay’s album came out before October 1, 2009. Dear God by The Roots or numerous songs on Distant Relatives deserve mention on that list.

    9. Okay, well I’m pretty sure everyone knew that Em was going to get the most nominations. He had a huge year so it’s very predictable that he might win all or most of his nominations.

The thing that does surprise me is that there’s no nominees for Distant Relatives anywhere. Not even under best reggae album. SMDH.

Another thing that really annoys me is that most of the nominations have like three or four huge mainstream acts and the remaining nominees are performers or bands that didn’t have mainstream success. Just look at Album of the Year. You have Em, Lady Antebellum, Gaga, Katy Perry, all of them household names…and then just randomly Arcade Fire to fit perfectly into the last slot. I mean what’s the point? We all know the more popular artists are going to win anyway. Looks like they’re never going to take the idea of separate the mainstream from the alternative/underground. They just randomly mix them together to make the alt-underground artists look bad. Give those people some shine too.

      1. I have the same complaints as you. I feel as though they throw these lesser known, highly praised artists in there to give their awards some sense of credibility. I’m no Arcade Fire fan, but I’m sure their album is better than Gaga, Titty Perry or Lady Antebellum.

    10. well sorry other nominees in raps catorgories, Eminem will win everything, sorry Drake, Justin beieber will win best new artist..yawn

    11. haha, as usual people are mad about the grammys. come on guys, your God Jayhova is nominated. why so sad?

this is the year of Recovery. Eminem will get his redemption which is icing on the cake for him. He deserves it too.

Next year, you Kanye fans will have something to cheer about as his redemption will come full circle. do you think he stay humble for the whole year? Yeah I didn’t think so either.

Oh and Katy Perry has great natural titties.

      1. You are fucking clueless. Teflon Don? Seriously? I can name five albums that weren’t nominated that are better than that piece of shit.

The Roots – How I Got Over
        Nas/D. Marley – Distant Relatives
Black Milk – Album of the Year
        Slum Village – Villa Manifesto
        Reflection Eternal – RPM

      1. The only he may have came close to deserving a nomination for is New Artist. But if you’re gonna nominate him, you should put Curren$y and many others ahead of him.

    12. 3-4 Grammys for Eminem, 1 for Cee-lo, 1 for Roots ( they deserve it), 1 for B.o.B and Bruno Mars. And of course for Janelle Monae

    13. I actually think the biggest snub was Raekwon’s OB4C2. How can forget to nominate that besides the fact that it should win. I still hoping Roots win, but I doubt it.

      1. Real talk. OB4CL2 is obviously superior to any of the nominations (although The Roots is close competition).

Maybe if Raekwon released it a month or two earlier, he would’ve easily gotten nominated for last year’s grammys – wackshit like Flo-rida’s ROOTS and Common’s Universal Mind Control had to be included as filler.

      1. The only reason The Roots will get this award at this point is because the are the house band on the Jimmy Fallon show. I’m not saying the album isn’t deserving, because they are my favorite hip-hop artists and I think it’s a great album. I’m sayin it because they’ve been nominated and their material was superior to those they were going against, but they weren’t mainstream enough to win. Maybe they are now that they are on Jimmy Fallon.

      2. I guess they won back in 2002 for “You Got Me”, but they’ve had plenty of Grammy worthy material since and haven’t won.

    14. Grammy’s can eat a dick. Big Boi did not get one nomination. That album was the best shit coming outta the A this year and one of the best albums of 2010. Looks like Eminem is takin most these categories. Fucked up isn’t it???

    15. I understand that kanye west’s album didn’t make the deadline for the grammys. But he did have two singles that still should’ve got nominated. Power and Runaway were still hits and been out for awhile. I bet he’s not happy about that. I say eminem wins half the noms he got. You guys are funny saying he’s going to win all ten nominations. Come on now em released a recovery album. Not a thriller album. Not even thriller won that many noms in one night. What makes you think eminem will. Drake aint gonna win shit. That best new artist trophy is going to Bieber just like it did at the VMA’s

    16. Another thing, where the hell is Aloe Blacc on the R&B charts? The nomination of R. Kelly, Usher, Ryan Leslie, and Chris Brown over him are completely ridiculous. Those for being nominated of Bilal for Best Contemporary R&B album is a joke too. The fact that Jay got 6 nominations for an album that shouldn’t even be considered because it didn’t fall into the proper time frame is ridiculous too. Grammys are a fucking joke. They’ll do what they always do and throw the occasional bone to someone who isn’t mainstream just to keep people from bitching too loud.

    17. From Bricks to Billboards, from grams to Grammys
The O’s to opposite, Orphan Annie

And all of your artists suck huge dick! I’d guarantee that 99% of music listeners could tell the exact same.

      2. I believe that this is a confirmation that ItsGucciTime should be officially placed in a facility for the mentally disabled. How did you type this with Gucci’s dick in your mouth? Wasn’t it hard to see the screen?

BTW, if you think Lupe is a new artist you are clearly fucking retarded. And I don’t mean a mild case. I mean like drooling on yourself, helmet wearing, window licking, peeing in your mouth for fun retarded.
