Eminem, Kendrick Lamar Items Among Green Label’s Ten Hip Hop Auction Items

Green Label has put together a list of 10 Hip Hop pieces of memorabilia from icons such as Rakim, Public Enemy, Slick Rick and Eminem that would make great auction items.

One item that was included on the list is one of Hip Hop’s most recognizable accessories, Slick Rick’s signature eye patch. Originally from London and later a Bronx resident, “Slick Rick The Ruler” rocked the patch to cover a fake eye Slick had as a result of his right eye being blinded from glass when he was younger.

Another piece of Rap lore that was added to the list was Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s welfare check that was picked up during the filming of a 1995 MTV special. The eccentric rapper arrived at the welfare office in a limo that was driven by a paid chauffer. ODB took the public assistance money after he had already made a good deal of money off the success he experienced as part of the Wu-Tang Clan. The famed MTV clip outraged many Americans who felt “Dirt McGirt” was taking advantage of the system in place to help those who actually needed it.

Green Label decided to include on its list something from what is arguably one of the most famous live performances ever in Rap, the piano from Eminem’s 2001 Grammy performance that was played by Elton John. The performance came at a time when “Slim Shady” was under intense criticism for his lyrics, which were deemed homophobic by several LGBT organizations. The openly gay Sir Elton John joined Em on “music’s biggest night” and the two gave a memorable rendition of the emcee’s single “Stan.”

The most recent item to be included on the list of Rap auction items is the photo that was used for the cover of Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d. city album. The picture of the Compton rapper features him as a young boy with members of his family. K. Dot’s photo joins a list of other iconic Rap covers that featured children on the front, such as Nas’ Illmatic and The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready To Die.

      1. my best friend’s mom makes $60/hour on the internet. She has been out of a job for eight months but last month her pay check was $15216 just working on the internet for a few hours. Go to this web site and read more… http://www.Green37.com

i will try to be resonable, but damn he really had one of the greatest runs in hip hop of all time.

    1. So…it’s just a hypothetical list of hip hop related items you could auction? They aren’t really being auctioned? What a waste of time that these idiots over at Mountain Dew sat around some night over Chinese and brainstormed this dumb shit. I thought there was a huge auction that would benefit some charity. Why am I reading this? So I can visit the Mountain Dew website? F that shit…

    2. So they couldn’t get a hold of Officer Ricky’s badge and handcuffs? that would have been a hot item no doubt!!
