Eminem Helping Flint Students Get School Supplies

As grade schools across the country begin to kick in high gear for the 2016 school year, rappers are stepping up to make sure the leaders of tomorrow have the tools they need succeed.

Eminem has partnered with the Kids in Need Foundation to supply more than 5,000 children with school supplies in the Michigan city that’s even worse off than his hometown of Detroit.

The Flint water crisis is still ongoing two years after the lead poisoning epidemic hit national news with the most recent findings indicating that the water is causing skin irritations and rashes in many residents. Eminem, like most citizens, believe the kids come first.

“Continuing to keep Flint in mind. 90% of the kids in their public school system live in poverty – give us a hand getting all 5,500 students a backpack full of supplies. Link in the bio to donate,” Marshall Mathers wrote on his Instagram page.

In April of this year, two Michigan Department of Environmental Quality officials were arraigned on criminal charges over misconduct regarding the Flint water crisis and a former city water plant operator also faces several misdemeanors.

Big Sean, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Pusha T, Meek Mill and 50 Cent are among several Hip Hop superstars who have donated and raised awareness in the ailing water system for the city of Flint.

    1. Why is there a little uzi vert song on soundcloud that was recently released that isn’t on your singles. Hiphopdx startin to lag and pay attention to lame ass rappers

      1. youre really complaining about not having the newest lil uzi song? how old are you 12?

    2. Always good to hear about positive stories like these in the Hip Hop community; he hasn’t done anything worth noting musically in a while, but he always supports his city/state; just wish he’d lose the screaming/yelling flow and the rappity-rap style and give us something comparable to his ‘Lose Yourself’ / Eminem Show – era flow.

      1. That should be a charity id contribute thousands to watch someone like mike tyson slug him for every $10,000 donated lol id donate at least $30K and its great seeing these rappers give back to these students but lets see how many of these rappers like em or e-40 decide not write it all off as a tax expense to dodge taxes and make it a 100% good will gesture with no personal motivation

      1. Negative people will ALWAYS attempt to find a way to discredit. *picks you up and sets you on the curb in time for trash pick-up*
