Eminem fans are none too pleased after the deluxe edition of The Death Of Slim Shady arrived with no beats from The Alchemist – despite featuring the legendary producer in the LP’s trailer.
The Death Of Slim Shady: Expanded Mourner’s Edition arrived on Friday (September 13) and featured one new skit, a remix to “Fuel” off the original LP and two new songs. None of the new additions were produced by Alc, however, prompting a response on social media.
One person wrote: “@Eminem @rosenberg Why trailer with Alchemist and all that promo for 1 remix ? I don’t understand.” Someone else said: “Bro where is Alchemist production? You keep playing with my emotions.”
Another post read: “Be Eminem’s promotion team: Film a whole trailer with The Alchemist in it, teasing songs produced by him. Proceed to drop one remix of a song that already dropped and two songs that were exclusive [face palm emoji].”
Shared to Instagram on Tuesday (September 10), the trailer for the deluxe finds Em strolling a convenience store with the legendary producer at the register. He then slices open a milk carton and spills it everywhere, prompting Al to yell at him to “get the fuck out of here” – but not before the camera zooms in to show a missing persons ad on the milk carton featuring Slim Shady.
In other news, Eminem turned back the clock at the 2024 MTV VMAs this week by recreating his iconic performance at the awards show from almost 25 years ago.
Opening the show for the first time since 2010, the Detroit rap legend performed his recent single “Houdini” while wearing a blond wig and accompanied by a legion of lookalikes.
The now-bearded 51-year-old even began his performance by walking through the audience inside the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York as he made his way to the stage.
Once on stage, Em was joined by longtime collaborator Mr. Porter of D12, as well as his dozens of doppelgangers.
The performance was a nod to his classic VMAs appearance in 2000 where he and army of bleach-blond lookalikes took over New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.
Eminem began that performance in the bustling street outside the venue before he and his squadron of Slim Shadys flooded into the venue as the Interscope signee performed his hit single “The Real Slim Shady.”
After his nostalgic rendition of “Houdini,” Eminem removed his blond wig, swapped the playfulness for poignancy and capped off his VMAs medley by performing “Somebody Save Me” alongside Jelly Roll.
Eminem is great at disappointing people. His last good album was The Eminem Show and that was back in 2002. After that, all he has done is disappointed everybody.
Plot twist: can’t be disappointed if his music was always one dimensional trash. Most overrated rapper ever and a one note pony biter lyrically and stylistically. His first 2 albums were the only halfway decent material he ever put out. Rest were derivative repetitive hog slop with garbage production and horrible hooks. And he sounded better and wrote better when he was high.
@Devil’s Ad That part. Em is ill with the wordplay. But he’s a horrible artist. Trash beats. Trash subject matter. Trash voice. Zero growth. He’s the undisputed champ of being underwhelming.

Truth! You can’t be critical of anything unless you yourself can do it better. Don’t tell me someone made bad sushi if you can’t make it better! Don’t tell me Soulja Boy is not super duper talented unless you can get hundreds of millions of views and make a lot of money! Jokes aside, because your point is stupid, Eminem is one of the most talented to ever make hiphop music. With that said, I can’t say anything he’s done the past decade plus is special. Talented, yes. But plenty of youtube rappers have wordplay and fast raps. OG Em, 1997 to 2004 or so was insane. No rapper alive at that point in time could step to him on a track and hope to beat him. I’m not even a fan really of his best music, but I recognize how solid it is.
