Eminem‘s daughter Hailie Jade might not be keeping the Mathers family name for much longer after getting engaged over the weekend.
The 27-year old took to Instagram on Monday (February 6) to announce that she got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Evan McClintock, over the weekend.
Hailie shared a photo of McClintock’s proposal, which saw him get down on one knee and pop the question, along with pictures of her engagement ring and their champagne-popping celebration to her three million followers.
“casual weekend recap…” she wrote in the caption.”2.4.23. i love you @evanmcclintock11.”
Hailie Jade was born to Eminem and his ex-wife Kim Scott on December 25, 1995, and has been the inspiration behind many of her dad’s songs and lyrics throughout his career.
“My baby girl keeps getting older/ I watch her grow up with pride,” Em rapped on 2002’s “Hailie’s Song.” “My insecurities could eat me alive / But then I see my baby / Suddenly I’m not crazy / It all makes sense when I look into her eyes.”
During an appearance on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson in 2020, Eminem spoke about how proud he was of Hailie and even referenced her boyfriend at the time.
“Hailie is 23,” he said. “Not babies, nope. Just a boyfriend, and she’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure. She graduated from college, 3.9. It definitely is crazy.
“I have a niece that I have helped raise too that’s pretty much like a daughter to me and she’s 26, and then I have a younger one that’s 17 now. So when I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing I’m most proud of — being able to raise kids.”
He added: “It’s definitely important to keep your kids grounded when there’s situations like we have.”
This is BIG hiphop news! Can’t have a hiphop site without talking about people’s family members lives online who have nothing to do with hiphop music! Might as well do articles about “Caitlynn” Jenner, considering Ye qas married to Kim, so they made them related, which makes all things with that tranny hiphop news!
While I see your point, Em’s daughter was clearly a big part of his story, which is why it’s here. Fact of the matter is, this site will put “news” up of soundcloud rappers that nobody has ever heard of, which is just as relevant as this.
Exactly. You just said it was relevant, by saying it’s as relevant as SoundCloud rappers that nobody has ever heard of lol. Aka, not relevant. Idk man, I remember this site a decade ago was actually good for finding some solid hiphop that wasn’t as widely known. Now they just post mumble rap and tmz gossip. Anyone know of a hiphop site that focuses on music, not drama and gossip? I miss old DatPiff too. Hasn’t been the same for a long time.
As long as hip hop is in the state it’s in with trash/mumble recycle repeat clout chasing/twerking “rappers”, this is all your ever going to hear about on ANY hip hop site. Sad but true.
I’m not disagreeing with you on this. More so stating it’s as relevant as some of the other bullshit they put on here. Yes, this site is more often than not trash now. I remember being put on to Homeboy Sandman after their review of The Good Sun (2010). Now most of the reviews are these bullshit rappers that all sound alike. It’s the state of hip hop more so the state of this site, I suppose.
Good point, the state of mainstream hiphop is horrible. At least even the mid 2000s, mainstream hiphop was a mix of JayZ, Ludacris, Eminem, 50 cent, and countless others that wr can all agree make some solid albums for hiphop. Odds are if you sat me down to listen to the top 10 albums of the past 3 years, I’ll only like 1 or 2, or only the ones made by less mainstream artists.
