Styles P just announced that he will be releasing an EP through E1 Music. The mixtape, his 11th, will be titled The Ghost Dub-Dime and is scheduled to release on May 18. “I am staying in tune with the streets and providing bars that most rappers won’t,” he said about the project.
The rapper has also signed a book deal to release a novel called Invincible, which will chronicle the gritty lives of its fictional characters. The book will go on sale on Jun. 1, while P’s studio album will release in the fall.
In other news, RZA is challenging upcoming producers to create beats using iPhone and iPod touch’s iDrum application. Having made 17 beats for the application himself, the Wu-Tang Clan vet is giving fans the chance to remix one of them, and the winning beat will be featured on iDrum.
The iDrum application is available on iTunes.
Lastly, Mogul Status Music is presenting its annual “Get Your Buzz Up” artist showcase in May. The event gives new artists the opportunity to perform in front of an audience of media insiders as well as spectators.
