DX News Bits: Prince Markie Dee, Marco Polo

Prince Markie Dee of the seminal ’80s trio the Fat Boys has joined Miami radio station 99 Jamz as an on-air radio personality. His first show aired this past Monday May 31 at 2 PM.

The famed Brooklyn emcee is no stranger to radio, however. Prior to joining the 99 Jamz team, Prince Markie Dee worked as a personality at fellow Miami radio station 103.5 The Beat before it folded.

In other news, Toronto-born, Brooklyn-based producer Marco Polo has announced a beat showcase in support of his upcoming second solo album The Stupendous Adventures of Marco Polo, due June 29 on Duck Down Records. The showcase, a first for the producer, is slated to take place this June 26 at The Great Hall in Marco’s hometown of Toronto.

The event will feature Polo and three other Canadian producers MoSS, Rich Kidd and Frank Dukes showcasing their production, in addition to performances by Tanika Charles, Shylow, Promise and more. Tickets are available for $10 in advance and $15 at the door. More information can be found at Marco Polo’s website

    1. well isn’t this just great
more bullshit about rappers whose own mothers don’t care about them
while gucci be planning another takeover of the streets
      DUDE IS THE NEW PAC
dx should be reporting on EVERY FUCKING SONG he records

      1. Naw son…Dx needs to be reporting on a real producer who is working with real heads that speak real english.

Not some fool emcee who cannot stay out of jail and speaks like he has three tounges in his mouth.

To say Gucci is the new Pac is like saying Soulja Boy is the new Biggie….

        Complete nonsense son!…

      2. how could you even compare soulja boy to gucci

just because your ignorant and don’t see the genius in gucci’s lyrics doesn’t mean he’s not a legend

      3. Saying “Genius in gucci’s lyrics” is like saying “genius in this peanut butter and ham sandwich.”
