At the taping of VH1’s Hip Hop Honors on September 23 rappers Ja Rule [click to read] and DMX seemed to end their longstanding feud with each other. The two rappers posed in pictures with each other and fellow Def Jam artists outside of the Brooklyn Academy of Music prior to the taping of the show.
And earlier this week DMX’s manager confirmed that the two have in fact decided to let the past be the past.
“He has a new attitude, a new team. He looks good and [now] he is squashing beefs,” DMX’s manager Nakia Walker told AllHipHop.com. “[And] his performances are breathtaking.”
The sixth annual Hip Hop Honors will air on October 13 at 9 p.m.
Aside from Ja Rule and DMX, another pair has decided to make amends this week. In a recent interview, Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy [click to read] explained that he no longer has issues with DJ Drama.
“No more light. Fight is over,” Young Jeezy explained in an interview. “Grown, baby, we moving on. I ain’t really no nigga to search for attention or do shit to get attention. I never mentioned niggas’ names, or said anything about anything throughout my career to get no cool points. I just mind my business. But at the same time, I’m a man first. If I feel offended, I’ma speak on it.”
In other news, rapper MC Lyte [click to read] and television personality Terrence J will host the first ever Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN) Awards today (September 25) in Washington D.C.
The awards show will honor both women and men who have played vitals roles in the empowerment of women across the globe.
Honoree’s include Vivica Fox, Hill Harper, Malinda Williams, Shanti Das of Universal Motown, and more.
