The Gym Class Heroes dropped their new
album As Cruel as School Children last month. They are currently hard
at work, promoting their new album and touring. We managed to sit down with Travis
McCoy, the lead singer/emcee of the crew to discuss the new
album.
“I’d say for the most part, to try to get it in as
many households as possible. With this album, we set out to make a Summertime
record like it’s synonymous with Summertime and you can just roll your windows
down and have a good time. I think we accomplished that,” he said of
the new album’s vibes.
“With the last record, it was really, really
personal. I put everything on the table and in a sense, I was kind
of vulnerable. There were tons of people that could relate to what I was
going through at that time in my life. With this album, I kind of wanted to
touch on that early 90’s vibe,” he added.
Currently, the crew is touring the US
and overseas. Here are a few upcoming tour dates, according to
their label.
