Drake wants his rap contemporaries to step up to the plate as he prepares to release an instrumental version of Scary Hours 3.
The 6 God released the surprise project last week, which is essentially the bonus edition of his latest album For All the Dogs.

An instrumental offering is now on the way, and the Canadian is challenging his rap peers to bring their best bars over his batch of beats from The Alchemist, Conductor Williams, Ovrkast and more.
Writing on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday (November 21), Drake said: “Dropping the instrumentals this week I wanna hear who’s barring up” next to a graphic of the twin fairies that appear on his Scary Hours 3 cover.
Announcing Scary Hours 3 last week, Drake detailed his thought process behind releasing the material, all of which was recorded in the weeks following the release of his aforementioned eighth studio album.
He said: “I feel no need to appease anybody. I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped that I know I could go disappear for, whatever, six months, a year, two years—even though I’m not really, like, into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery.

“But, you know, ultimately, it’s coming to me in a way that I haven’t experienced maybe since, like, If You’re Reading This, where it’s just kind of like I feel like I’m on drugs. I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything.
“I did those songs in the last five days. I didn’t have one bar written down for those songs on the night that For All the Dogs dropped. It’s not like I’m picking up from some unfinished shit, you know? This is just, it’s happening on its own. And, you know, who am I to fight it, right?”
The surprise release comprised of six tracks, which included a feature from J. Cole who Drake recently revealed was going to be co-headlining a tour with him.
The two rap titans will be hitting the road together in 2024 for a series of 18 shows starting in January in Colorado and running until March, with the final co-headlining date coming in Kentucky.
