Drake and Ludacris had a minor feud in the 2010s that eventually got resolved, but Drizzy recently shared the petty reason behind how it all started.
While celebrating his birthday, Drake hit the mic as Luda’s mid-aughts hit “Pimpin’ All Over The World” played at the party and revealed to attendees what the real issue was.

“I use to beef with Ludacris because he dated my first girlfriend, swear to God. I used to have beef with Ludacris,” he said laughing. “Shoutout to Ludacris, though.”

The beef didn’t grow very big, but things started in 2010 after Drake called Ludacris out for using the “Supa Dupa” flow that had been popularized by himself, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj and more.
He told AllHipHop at the time: “I hate that rappers picked that flow up. I wish they had left that for people that know how to use it.”

After Sean chimed in with similar sentiments, Luda replied in 2011 on “Bada Boom,” rapping: “Counterfeit rappers say I’m stealing they flows/But I can’t steal what you never made up, bitch!”
Then in 2015, Drake named Luda on “How About Now” – and now the line makes sense with his recent explanation that it was over a woman they’d inadvertently shared.

“I used to always try and burn you CDs of my new shit/You be like, ‘Who’s this?’/I’d be like, ‘Me, girl,’ You be like, ‘Oh, word, true shit?’/Then ask if we could listen to Ludacris/Them car rides made me feel like I was losin’ it.”
But later that year, Ludacris revealed in an interview on the The Breakfast Club that Drake had “apologized to him like a man,” then hinted at the reason behind the beef that Drizzy just confirmed.
“I think there is a little bit of a true story behind that,” he said. “His girl, at the time, with all due respect was probably doing a little bit more than that. It’s a true story and I think that’s why he said that.”
And just to really solidify their good standing, Drake had some kind words for Luda during his acceptance speech at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards – as the Atlanta superstar was hosting the event.
