Drake was apparently in a G-Unit mood after running into 50 Cent in a Miami club, and paid homage to the Queens native the following day by donning his face on his shirt.

The initial linkup was met with controversy, as it arrived on the same night that Drake had cancelled his headlining performance at Lollapalooza Brasil due to “apparent unforeseen circumstances” involving members of his sound and production team.

“DRAKE CANCELLED HIS HEADLINING SLOT AT LOLLAPALOOZA BRAZIL SO HE COULD GO TO THE CLUB IN MIAMI WITH 50 CENT,” one upset fan vented on Twitter. “GRINGOS IN FUCKING LATIN AMERICA. I HATE Y’ALL.”

Drizzy ignored the backlash and doubled down on his fandom, however, and was spotted wearing a 50 Cent shirt on Monday (March 27). Check out the pic below.

This isn’t the first time Drake has worn a shirt in homage to 50. Back in 2022, he shared a photo of himself on popular 2000s show Degrassi wearing a 50 Cent shirt with the caption, “Degrassi fits were serious.”

50 appreciated the love, and shared the photo with his own followers later that day.

“That boy @champagnepapi came wit it, he got off that show and made some real fucking hits man,” 50 said.

And that wasn’t the first time 50 has mentioned Drake, either.

Back in 2020, the South Jamaica, Queens legend called for the 6 God to take on his mentor Lil Wayne in Verzuz. According to Fif, those two competing against each other would make perfect sense.

“I think because of the momentum, the best thing would probably be [Lil] Wayne vs. Drake,” 50 said. “To keep it real with you. There’s two different styles in the same period so it will be entertaining enough to watch both of them.”

The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper also explained a battle between Drake and Lil Wayne would be on the same level energy-wise as him taking on Eminem.

“You still see that energy that I keep telling you about with me and Em because Wayne provided that opportunity to Drake,” 50 said.

A recent conversation had fans looking for 50 himself to take on Wayne, however – but according to Verzuz co-founder Swizz Beatz, it will never happen.

“Me personally, I wouldn’t even do 50 vs. Wayne – they two different dynamics and two different artists,” he told Baller Alert.

“I would do a different Verzuz for both of them, but we’ll see as we have a lot of things lined up for Verzuz, and hopefully, they are involved. While I can’t give up who I would choose to go against them, just wait and see.”

As for when fans can expect the Verzuz series to return, Swizzy said “ASAP,” adding that the under-construction sign will soon be “taken off the glass.”
