Drake has been known to be someone who enjoys life thoroughly, which is what Lil Yachty believes is the great divide between them.
During an in-depth interview with Complex on September 26, Lil Boat spoke about tour life and his budding friendship with Drizzy.

He specifically talked about how he and Drake differ in terms of how they approach life while recording music.
“Me and him are kind of different when it comes to lifestyle,” Yachty said. “Like we’re really similar as people, but as far as life, we’re very different. Like, I don’t go out, he loves to go out, he loves to host people, he loves to party and I don’t like people that much.”

He continued: “And I record every day all day, where he kind of is very selective on his recording days as he has more of a life than I do. And, he is much more into actually living life as to where I am literally trying to record music every day. And I don’t know if I get that from him of like, ‘Oh, I should go live a life too,’ because I enjoy not living life, I enjoy making music.
“This is my fun. I hate going out. So, if anything, I just realized that you can be so similar to somebody yet so different at the same time.”

Yacthy’s recent interview is just one of the many times over the past few months that he’s been candid (and comical) about Drake’s creative process and how it intertwines with the Toronto superstar’s life.
Earlier this month, the Atlanta native appeared on an episode of A Safe Place Podcast and explained why it’s been a minute since the 6 God has made a sweet, heartfelt track like “Hold On We’re Going Home” or “Take Care.”

“I asked him a while ago, I said something like, ‘Man, why don’t you make songs like you used to?’” he began. “I was like, ‘Why don’t you make love songs, like those songs that makes people miss they ex and shit?’
“I think he explained to me how it’s hard for him to make music about things he isn’t dealing with or experiencing, which opened an eye for me because me on the other hand, as a songwriter, I can just go make some shit up.”
He continued: “I can go create a scenario, I can create a story, I can make a song about a girl I never met. I can make a love song about a relationship I’ve never been in.
“[But] for him, everything is real. Everything is pulled from something. Maybe he hasn’t been in love in a while to make love, deep love music or whatever the case may be.

“So it’s all real experiences for him. What it is, is just what’s he’s going through in the time, which I respect a lot because it’s like journaling at that point.”
