Drake has called the Big Apple home for the last week — and he had yet another “only in New York” moment when he encountered a superfan that couldn’t wait to declare her love for him.
As the 6 God arrived at his hotel in New York City on Saturday (July 22), an enthusiastic fan jumped the barricade while screaming, “Aubrey! Aubrey!” In the background — and in true New York fashion — other fans could be heard saying: “Yo, shorty, chill! It’s not that serious!”
Alas, the fan persisted, and security tackled her to the ground as she continued to scream Drake’s name. Unfazed, Drizzy passed by the fan with a quick glance, but continued to walk into the hotel as other fans laughed at her predicament.

It’s safe to say that Drake has had an eventful few days in New York, where he’s been performing on his It’s All a Blur Tour.
The OVO Sound founder was photographed on Thursday afternoon (July 20) wearing a Doberman mask as he left his NYC hotel and made his way to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for a show.
“Dialed In,” Drizzy captioned photos of him stepping out in the dog mask — which was seemingly a promo for his upcoming album For All the Dogs — on his Instagram Story.
Drake also provided an update on his forthcoming project during one his Barclays Center concert that night, revealing it’ll be arriving sooner than later.
“I got a freestyle dropping tomorrow. I got an album coming in like, I don’t know, a couple of weeks,” he said, prompting cheers from the crowd.
The Toronto native tour took over Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for a second consecutive night on Tuesday (July 18), where he was seen cozying up to the “Pound Town” star backstage.
A photo shared on social media showed Drake planting a passionate kiss on the rising St. Louis rapper’s cheek while sat with his arm around her. Sexyy reciprocated the love by clasping his face with her hand.
While sharing the picture on his Instagram Stories, Drake referred to the 25-year-old as his “rightful wife.”
“Just met my rightful wife @sexyyred,” he wrote, before adding in another since-deleted post: “If my girl see ya’ll backstage being thirsty it’s gonna get smokey.”
Sexyy also shared the image — along with another of Drake sticking his tongue out for the camera — on Instagram with the braggadocious caption: “I’m yo favorite rapper favorite rapper.”
It wasn’t just backstage where the smooching happened, though. The Her Loss hitmaker also shared a photo of him kissing Sexyy Red’s cheek during the show itself as he embraced her in the VIP section.
