Drake is purposely avoiding Rolling Loud – or at least, that’s what the popular festival’s co-founder Tariq Cherif thinks.

Cherif dropped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood this week to discuss the newly-announced Rolling Loud California 2025 lineup, and he was asked if there are any artists he hasn’t been able to get over the years. While Big Boy said it was fine if names weren’t named, Cherif let it be known that Drizzy is the one they just can’t nail down.

“I feel like Drake’s ducking us,” he said. “I got no beef with Drake. I like Drake. I think he’s a great artist. We’ve been trying to book him forever. We even offered Drake ‘Three Nights of Drake’ once.

“They were like, ‘You need to make it special,’ [so we were like], ‘Alright, three nights of Drake! You’ll be the headliner for three nights!’”

Clearly, that still wasn’t enticing enough for Drizzy to sign on.

Now in its 10th year, Rolling Loud has grown to be the biggest Hip Hop festival in the world with stacked shows throughout the United States and even abroad.

Earlier this week, the lineup for the aforementioned Rolling Loud California 2025 was announced, with A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti tapped to headline alongside first-timer Peso Pluma.

Meanwhile, Drake is ready to get active again, though it’s not entirely clear what he’s referring to.

Taking to his Instagram Story with a blurred photo of a man in a tux earlier this week, Drizzy wrote, “I’m about to get active again… Free Anita @stake.”

While he’s had a relatively low-key year following the highly-publicized war with Kendrick Lamar, it’s possible Drake is at least in part referring to heading outside once again for his forthcoming Anita Max Wynn tour in Australia.

The OVO star also recently said he’s “loaded” for 2025, so it’s looking likely that a ton of new music is on the way, including his joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

“I’m loaded [for 2025]”, he said during his Christmas giveaway stream with Adin Ross. “Me and PARTY’s [album is] honestly one of the projects I’m most proud of in my life. I’ve always wanted to make a full album of that – of our sound, Toronto sound, R&B. So it’s just the best that both of us have to offer. Listening party has to be in the city. I think ’25 will be a shift. I think people wanna just get back to like just dropping their shit.”
