Dr. Dre may release another album, but it won’t be called Detox, according to Dawaun Parker, a producer who has worked with Dre, Eminem and 50 Cent, among others, over the course of his career.
“The album he’s working on is not called Detox,” Parker says in an interview with Jeff Weiss and Nocando for the duo’s Shot’s Fired Podcast. “He scrapped Detox a couple of years ago and came up with another title. I won’t say what the title is ’cause I haven’t seen that online or anything yet.”
Parker, who says he’s worked on several potential album cuts for Dre, says he believes the man behind Aftermath will release the new album one day.
“The music is there,” Parker adds. “I feel like one day, [Dr. Dre is] gonna wake up and say, ‘Today’s the day,’ and put it out. The music’s been there.”
Parker, who reveals Busta Rhymes’ “Get You Some” was initially meant for Dr. Dre, explains that he only mentions this album news now because he’s seen Marsha Ambrosius discuss Detox’s status during a June 2014 interview with Rap-Up.
“Detox was a title that was thrown around so many years ago,” she said at the time. “There’s so many other things in the works for you to not have to be concerned about anyone detoxing. It sounds like a fitness center now. No, you’ll see something else.”
Dr. Dre’s Detox has been an often-delayed and much discussed project for several years. In 2012, DJ Quik said he believed Dre would never release Detox. “I don’t really believe that Dr. Dre’s gonna release [Detox],” he said at the time. “I think he’s kind of over it and rightfully so. If he does put it out, it’s gonna come out without the fanfare.” In 2013, Game echoed Quik’s comments, saying it would “never” be released. “Detox, it’s like Jesus,” he said at the time. “Will you ever get to see Jesus? It’s like a Hip Hop Jesus.” This year, DJ Yella said he wouldn’t release Detox if he was Dr. Dre.
dre wont release any more albums period, one way or another its gonna dissapoint. there wont be another 2001.
And 2001 is where it should be left at!
I thought Dawaun Parker is Mr. Porter
that would be dawaun porter.
You just took the words out of my head and that’s my mind right there. Always thought Mr Porter was Dewaun parker since he is affiliated to Emm, Dre can get him whenever he pleases.

lol, did Mr. Retardio bully you in school?
DX Team raped that guy, he has been writing these comment’s ever since.
Only thing Dre is releasing is OVERPRICED headphones
Dr Dre can’t even get an album out because interscope can’t be releasing albums from an artist who NEVER went no.1. Interscope must be kicking themselves that they haven’t signed ross, who went no.1 5 time and will do it again later in november.
Dr. Dre went multi platinum, though. It doesn’t matter if he went to number one. Also, Ross is not going to number one in November.
Everyone was going multi platinum in the 90’s though. Very few can do that today. Ross did go platinum with POM. Also, why won’t ross go no. 1?
Rick Ross has yet to sell a platinum album. #Fact
Ross is releasing his album the same day as Nicki and Eminem, he ain’t going to number one. Also, POM did not go platinum.
Port of Miami is the debut studio album by Miami rapper Rick Ross. Originally titled Career Criminal[12], the album was renamed, in reference to Miami being a major arrival destination for cocaine shipments to America. The album was released August 8, 2006 on Slip-n-Slide Records, Def Jam Recordings and Poe Boy Entertainment. The album was engineered by Miami based songwriting and production team The Monsters & The Strangerz. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, with 187,000 copies sold in the first week of sales.[13] In 2010, Rhapsody called it one of the best “coke rap” albums of all time.[14]
The album’s first single, “Hustlin’ “, has received an exorbitant amount of airplay. The remix version features Jay-Z and Young Jeezy. The album’s second single, “Push It”, produced by J. R. Rotem. This track samples the song “Push It to the Limit” from the movie Scarface. Port of Miami was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on November 8, 2006 with over 500,000 copies.[15] According to Soundscan, the album has sold 1,714,000 copies to date.[16]
You edited that last information because POM isn’t even close to a million.
That dumb ass nigga believes Wikipedia hahahahahaha! I can go and edit that article and say he did a gay porno with Lil B. Find a REAL source!
Who even cares about Detox anymore? It’s not that the good Doctor had improved over the years… The last couple of released Dr. Dre produced track are pretty blend and wack.
co sign
just call it DOGSHIT
I knew as soon as he’d rode out the success of the headphones he’d come crawling back to music because now it doesn’t even matter if his album goes platinum or it gets shelved forever. I think Dre has been holding his shit back because he’s scared to fail and his headphones were just so successful that an album would be pointless work.
Also Dr. Dre is just a hype name, when you look past him, you see that he was only successful in music because of his associates really.
Bruh 2001 16 years later? Who REALLY gives a fuck if anotha Dr. Dre album of ANY title?? Shit could be call The Chronic 2020. Cuz whateva he’s tryin to reinvent, obviously ain’t workin’. Scrappin’ it for da millionth time isn’t showin u sumthin??? STOP TRYIN TO REINVENT DA FUCKIN WHEEL!!!
Not sure hip hop’s first billionaire really gives a fuck about being ‘relevant’ to a bunch of 20 year olds.
Save it Dre, don’t nobody wanna hear that anymore. u played all of us, now go sit down somewhere and spend your beats money
LOL i like that
Well said.
somebody mad some rapper didn’t cater to their punk ass wishes, LMMFAO
“Punk ass wishes”
So waitin till the album drops for a decade and half is ok now, huh
The new album will be called Hell Frozen Over, because that’s when it’s coming out.
The first single is titled “When Pigs Fly”, featuring Ice Cube and MC Ren
dre could drop a album tomorrow with no promotion and still go platinum
“Motherfucker I’m Dre – I don’t need your respect. I don’t need to make another album bitch, I don’t gotta do shit. I do it because I want to not to stay in the game. Fuck the fame, I’m still stayin the same, lil’ bitch!”

i think 15 years later fans finally reached a who givees a fuck point..even if it does release he wont have a big fan base and losing the detox name guarnteed even the young swagfags wont check it.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! Who cares either way? Some people will buy it, some folks won’t. But all you people trashing each other on a hip-hop website?????? Really? Do something positive with your time. I find it very funny that all you people that believe in god are always so mean and are such bad people. The earth don’t need you ruining everything. Go away or learn to be polite. I blame your parents for raising you to be fucking assholes. Your Mother’s failed and I am very sorry for that. I feel sorry for all of you. Just joking. I’m as fucked up as all you. Fucking stupid little sheep. That producer guy don’t speak your name or have an opinion about you, but you sure like talking about him. Ya’ll wanna do sex stuff with him huh? That’s just disgusting. That Compton producer guy is old. Oh my. Well, have a nice day and thank you for allowing me to be a fuckin bitch ass retard with nothing better to do with my time just like the rest of ya’ll. We are all. We are all punk ass cunts with shitty, trashy Moms.
beats by dre > detox
The good doctors funna release his 4th classic, no doubt
Dre waited way too long to release this album, hiphop has changed since his previous studio album.
I guess his ghostwriters and songwriters wised up. They actually want to get paid and given credit for their work. Dre doesn’t play any instruments, doesn’t write any music, doesn’t write any lyrics, doesn’t perform his own lyrics, he addlibs over other people’s vocals. He was always going to be Hip Hop’s first Billionaire because he never had to work, come up with any ideas so he let everyone else do his job for him. That is how you get rich folks, let everyone else do everything for you then take credit for it. Billionaire crash course 101 for you right there.
THE DX STAFF IS SO FUCKING DUMB
but no one gets mad at lil wayne for having ghost writters FOH
Dre somehow thinks that Hip Hop is dying for Detox. Maybe it did a few years ago but the ships sailed I think…
Imagine an ageing Dre releasing an album filled with gangsta lyrics and sht. It would be kinda embarrassing.
Its kinda sad because an album featuring all the talents he has called upon for Detox over the years, including = Nelly, T.I., Busta Ryhmes, Kendrick Lamar, Joel Ortiz, 50 Cent, Game, Snoop Dogg, The DOC, Dj Quick, Eminem etc etc would be incredible.
Even if you had a small chunk of those guys writing the hook etc that would be a sicko album
Dre thinks hes going down as one of the greatest, but his catalogue is pretty light. he NEEDED Detox to finish as the GOAT
