Doechii has brought out all the stars for her new “Denial is a River” trailer, but what it is exactly remains to be seen.
The rising TDE star shared the trailer on Thursday (December 26) which features several nods to the hit sitcom Family Matters and has an overall retro look and feel.

In addition to Doechii herself, the short clip boasts cameos from labelmates ScHoolboy Q and SiR, as well as Teezo Touchdown, Baby Tate, Zack Fox, Rickey Thompson and DJ Miss Milan.
Earl Sweatshirt also makes an appearance and is hilariously billed as “Brad Pitt,” a nod to the since-defunct Odd Future TV show Loiter Squad.

The trailer reveals that “Denial is a River” will premiere on January 2, and while it doesn’t explicitly state that it’s a TV show, the trailer appears to suggest so.
However, it’s also possible that this is merely a creative marketing stunt for an upcoming music video for the track, which is taken from Doechii’s critically acclaimed mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal.

The Florida native recently shed light on the project in an interview with Variety, revealing that it will have plenty of live instrumentation.

“All I can think about is this album, so I’m just looking forward to making more hits, making more music and achieving more of my goals,” she said. “That’s it.”
Doechii has also continued to earn plaudits from her Hip Hop predecessors of late, with Killer Mike being the latest to heap high praise on her.
During a conversation at Los Angeles’ Grammy Museum, the Atlanta rap legend told Doechii: “You truly are an artist. You’re not a rapper aspiring to be; you’ve been an artist.
“You choose rap to tell a story but visually, [the cover of Alligator Bites Never Heal] is striking. It is absolutely a testimony to me that the South has produced an artist like you.”

He continued: “There are many other artists out of Florida, but you are the tip of the spear right now. I think you are the leader in rap right now.”
