DJ Vlad has been a staple in the Hip Hop media industry for quite some time, and in a recent interview he confessed that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department tried to approach him for help in the investigation into Keefe D, the man who allegedly murdered 2Pac.

In a sit-down with Bomb1st on Friday (September 29), the VladTV owner claimed that he, like many others close to the case, was “surprised” that Keefe D was arrested for the 1996 murder. However, he said, he wasn’t sure if they were going to take the accused killer to trial, or if the prosecutors were simply going to plead him out.

What’s more, Vlad said, he could have had a much bigger role in the investigation had he chosen to, because he’d interviewed several key players — including Keefe D himself — for his site.

“They tried to go down that route,” he said, referring to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. “I’ve gotten a bunch of phone calls and emails and stuff like that. But I’m not cooperating with this.”

When pressed further, Vlad insisted that he wasn’t interested in turning over the so-called “uncut” versions of his interviews, which is what the police seem to be after. “My thing — and I’ve always held this stance when it comes to people — is that I’m not going to have you come to my platform and do an interview with you, only to then work against you with the police,” he said. “Regardless of what people think I really do, the reality is … if you interview on my platform, and the police try to approach me on it, I’m always going to say no.”

The motive for the killing, according to the prosecution, was “retribution” against the “Dear Mama” rapper, as well as former Death Row CEO Marion “Suge” Knight. Davis will be arraigned on Wednesday (October 4) for the crime.
