DJ Khaled is known for his sense of humor — but a recent viral video of him appearing to twerk in a swimming pool has tested the limits among a number of his Hip Hop peers.

In a clip shared on Akademiks’ Instagram page on Saturday (May 20), the We the Best boss can be seen diving into an outdoor pool and swimming under the water as Danny Towers, DJ Scheme, Ski Mask the Slump God and Luh Tyler’s “Florida Water” plays in the background.

The video then seamlessly cuts to an overweight man — who has a similar physique to Khaled and whose face remains hidden — twerking under the water in the pool.

While it’s unclear where the video originated from, it’s safe to assume that the twerking summer wasn’t actually the “God Did” hitmaker.

However, that didn’t stop the savage comments from flooding in. And clearly, quite a few rappers felt a type of way.

“WTF DID I JUST SEE. NAW MAN THE WORLD IS CHANGING. THIS ISNT WHAT WE DO … JUST ASK THE COMMUNITY,” an outraged Wack 100 wrote in Akademiks’ comment section, while Rick Ross saw the funny side of the footage by commenting: “Haaa.”

“Unfollowing buddy right now [laughing face emojis],” added Waka Flocka Flame.

And Luh Tyler, whose song is featured in the clip, also had quite a bit to say. “Cuhhhh [laughing face emojis],” he wrote.

DJ Khaled may not be twerking in anybody’s pool anytime soon, but this isn’t the first time he’s made headlines for a booty-shaking video.

In May 2021, the Grammy-nominated DJ/producer came under fire among his fellow Muslims for posting a clip of bikini-clad women twerking during the holy month of Ramadan.

The footage was taken from the music video shoot for his “Body In Motion” collaboration with Bryson Tiller, Lil Baby and Roddy Ricch.

“It’s Ramadan my friend think you forgot,” one fan reminded Khaled on social media, while another scolded him by writing: “You’re not following your religion very well.”

Khaled, who originates from Palestine, was also reminded of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine by saying: “You do realize your country Palestine is literally being destroyed by Zionist and you’re on here posting videos of women shaking their assets on the last day of the holy month of Ramadan??”
