In an explosive rant about his former Dipset comrade earlier this week, Killa Cam revealed that Jones once confronted Maino for dissing him early in his career.

“Ever wonder how he met Maino? Maino gonna downplay it ’cause they cool now. He tried to press Maino ’cause Maino first came out with a little record where he said a n-gga’s name,” Cam said.
“So Jim went to see Maino one day and was like, ‘Yo, wassup with all that saying my name?’ Maino said, ‘Who the fuck you talking to?! Oh, you think I’m one of them n-ggas? You out your muthafucking mind!’ Now they’re the Lobby Boyz.”

He added: “Every n-gga that do something to put pressure on you, you sit there and work it out. But when n-ggas got genuine heart for you and don’t put hands on you, then you can keep going on and on. That’s the pattern.”
Speaking on The Breakfast Club, DJ Envy verified the story and revealed that Maino pretended to pull a gun on Jim Jones during the confrontation.
“I remember that night. We’re all in the club and Maino was the bad boy back in the day, like running around and threatening everybody. So Maino had three [people with him],” the radio personality said.
“Jim came in the club and must have had about 15 dudes with him. And when he walked down the stairs, the first thing Maino did was turn around and said, ‘Yo, everybody tuck your chains in.'”
Envy then recalled the “We Fly High” hitmaker approaching Maino and his crew: “Jim walked over, with all the dudes in front of Maino, and Maino went in his jacket like he had a gun. And when he fake pulled out like he had a gun, the club scattered. Everybody cleared out.
“I was surprised because I know we all went through the metal detectors. I was like, ‘Yo, how did you sneak in a gun?’ [Maino] was like, ‘I lied. I was just bluffing.’ But that really happened. When Jim ran up on Maino, that absolutely, positively happened.”
