While the happy couple are embarking on a new motherhood journey together, it’s clear Da Brat is not playing around, as her wife shared a video of her in the hospital shortly after giving birth and was frustrated that her son had yet to be returned to her.

“I want y’all to see how my wife was acting while we was in the hospital,” Jesseca said on Instagram before sharing the clip — which finds Da Brat sitting in the hospital bed looking frustrated.

“I wanna know where they done took my child,” Da Brat said in the video. “That lady done came in here, I ain’t never seen that lady before. She didn’t really introduce herself or say much. She just said what she was gonna do.

“I don’t know, they took my child and we all got these wristbands and he ain’t got a locator on him. I need my child back.”

Da Brat’s wife reassured her Legacy was merely being evaluated by thhe pediatric nurse, but the “Funkdafied” rapper didn’t care.

“How long they gonna be gone? They need to call me or something,” she continued. “How long they gonna keep him? Is he waiting in line? Is he next?”

Jesseca said she’d go and find him, to which Da Brat replied: “You don’t even know where it’s at. You better roll me with you.”

Fans swarmed the comments section both laughing and sympathizing with Da Brat’s angst.

“When a mother says MY CHILD you better find somebody else to play with!! PERIODT!!” one supporter wrote, while another added: “DABRAT WENT FROM ONE OF THE TOUGHEST FEMALE RAPPERS OF OUR TIME TO AN INSTANT PROTECTIVE MOMMY BEAR! WHAT!!?? [laughing emoji’s] LIFE IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL THING! How we grow, evolve, elevate??? IT’S AMAZING!!”

Others agreed that Da Brat’s reaction was hilarious. “Da Brat is me and I am Da Brat,” wrote one fan, while one more added: “I love her new mommy energy. Save this to merge with the ‘come get your kid’ video soon to come. LOL.”

While the birth of the pair’s son went off without a hitch, a former employee of Jesseca’s has since accused the happy couple of stealing the names of her two children.

Jesseca bit back on social media by resharing a 2020 interview Da Brat did with Dish Nation, where she said her son’s full name is a combination of her and Jesseca’s.

“Shawntae is my first name and Dupart is my baby’s last name,” Brat said at the time. “Carry on the legacy of the parents, darling.”

The former employee, who goes by Shaynah Solochek, claimed on Instagram earlier in July that Legacy and Shawntae are the names of her two sons, and “advised” Jesseca to “back off.”

“There are so many names in the world my two sons name did not have to be it,” she wrote.” I advise you to back off! I don’t do well with Demons trying to attack my children! I am ready for WAR ATP! One name I would say: okay so many people have that name but to take both of their names.”

Jesseca replied on her Instagram Story, writing alongside the aforementioned interview: “No negativity as we celebrate our PERFECT son, but let’s get 1 thing straight with LOVE. This my wife on Dish in 2020.”

She continued: “We didn’t have a daughter but my wife’s pick of OUR sons name is a perfect fit for him with NO ONE else’s child in mind. ESPECIALLY a person we no longer follow/interact with nor know wtf is going on in their life.”

Da Brat and Harris-Dupart announced their pregnancy in February, revealing to PEOPLE magazine that they used an anonymous sperm donor to impregnate the rapper.

While the couple had clearly been on cloud nine throughout the pregnancy journey, the road to having their first child together wasn’t entirely smooth. Da Brat had to undergo surgery to remove fibroids and polyps prior to her embryo transfer procedure — and then came a heartbreaking miscarriage.
