Renowned Hip Hop podcaster Reggie “Combat Jack” Ossé has revealed he’s been diagnosed with colon cancer. The disease caused him to missed an episode of his popular Combat Jack Show for the first time in seven years.
“In 7 years of podcasting, I’ve never missed an episode,” he said in a statement issued on Monday (October 23). “I got hit with some real life shit. I was recently diagnosed with Colon Cancer. I was rushed to the hospital, had some pretty severe surgery,” he continued. “I’m on the mend right now. I’m about to jump on this journey to health with chemo and alternative medicine. “Take care of your health,” he told his fans. “Your boy aint going nowhere though. We’re going to keep doing this. Keep rocking’ with us.”
Ossé has begun a hashtag on Twitter, #CombatCancer, which has picked up momentum on the social media service.

My mom made it but my aunt didn’t…. saddest ish ever… You actually need a loved one drugged up looking vulnerable for you to have some compassion. I really wanna diss you for your heartless comment but memories of my aunt and the fright of losing my mom overwhelms me as I type.

This is most definitely Hip Hop news. Do your Googles. Combat Jack has been doing some of the best Hip Hop interviews for the past few years. Just because you don’t feel like it’s news, I found out he had colon cancer through this site and I hope he pulls through. Definitely a fan of his work. It’s unfair to write people off just because you have a warped perspective on things.
Even if it was random, Cancer just a sensitive subject and should handled a little bit more lightly with this what has this person I’m reading about done for me lately approach to my culture.
