Coi Leray hasn’t been too welcoming to folks questioning her artistic talent, and wants her critics to know that she’s “that girl.”
Early Tuesday morning (May 9), the young rapper fired off a series of tweets addressing people who have questioned her credibility, as well as applauding herself for not caring what haters say — whether on or off stage.

“lol I’m that girl. Real life. Offline. In the booth. On the stage. On the red carpet. On the radio. Overseas. And that’s just what it is. Shout out to my bitches who stay true to them selves and dgaf what nobody has to say!” she tweeted.
The situation started after the “Players” rapper posted a cryptic tweet the day before (May 8), about the music industry being “oversaturated.”
One person, however, noted that Leray — daughter of Love and Hip Hop star Benzino — may be the person she’s actually referring to. “Can’t help but think Coi benefited from said saturation. Valid message, wrong messenger,” the person tweeted.
The tweet caught Coi’s attention, and she noted her “versatility and stage presence” is what separates her from her peers.
“Y’all buggen. My versatility, my stage presence . My stats. My collabs. My Brand Deals . Fashion Girl. I can dance. Sing . Rap. It’s fine if you don’t see it now. I’m in no rush for you to notice,” she wrote.
However, the story does not end there. According to another person, although what she said regarding her abilities is true, she still benefits from the “oversaturation” she claims to hate.
“Which is all true but you got noticed and ‘fame’ from the over saturation. U literally got big off of TikTok sounds. U got talent like shit sis but don’t act like u didn’t use that moment to get ur shit poppin,” the person tweeted.
As Coi once again pointed out, despite some’s doubts regarding her success on social media platforms such as TikTok, she’s been successful in taking her career to new heights.
“How many people on TikTok went top 10 gobal? How many on TikTok had the amount of success I had with NMP , TWINNEM, BIG PURR, DDG IMPATIENT , plus soooo many more,” she tweeted.

Another fan offered a different perspective and noted while it’s good the rapper is confident, she should avoid being “cocky.”
“please coi dont get to cocky i was loving about you u were doing ur thing and just stayin to urself shutting down the doubters now u start getting cocky these stan bases will go out of their way to make sure u fail just be humble and move in silence,” they wrote.
