JT has called on Nicki Minaj to headline the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, and took some time to celebrate Rihanna’s magnetic halftime performance on Sunday (February 11).

JT and Saweetie were spotted in the stands during RiRi’s highly anticipated performance, which went down at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and saw her deliver a medley of hits including “Work,” “Umbrella” and “Diamonds,” as well as Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” and JAY-Z’s “Run this Town.”

“Let’s go rih act tf up!!!!!” JT tweeted out before the show.

While the pair were celebrating the performance, JT also took a minute to shout out the Pinkprint rapper and said she should serve as next year’s performer.

“We need @NICKIMINAJ next year!!!!” she wrote.

While Nicki has yet to respond to JT’s demands, the claim comes as no surprise considering how close the pair have become this past year. In 2022 the pair got together to conduct an interview for i-D, which came after Nicki’s new single “Super Freaky Girl” dominated the Billboard charts last summer. The single propelled Nicki to be the first female solo rap artist to debut at the Hot 100’s summit since Lauryn Hill in 1998 with “Doo Wop (That Thing).”

During the interview, JT noted the single’s “Queen Mix,” which featured the City Girls rapper alongside unsigned rappers Katie Got Bandz, Maliibu Miitch, BIA and Akbar V. The Pinkprint rapper said the “Super Freaky Girl (Queen Mix)” was so she could just hear women spit.

“I wanna hear girls rap again. Like, just rap. When I did my BET Cypher years ago, I purposely didn’t wear revealing clothes,” Nicki said. “I wore a sweatsuit. So even though we were being super freaky girls on the song, and we all had fun, y’all really spit.”

Nicki Minaj also complimented JT’s verse on the remix.

“I heard your verse and was blown away,” Nicki said. “I was so taken aback by your ability to remain yourself on a song that seemed like a beat that you wouldn’t normally do. I’m in a really great place now.”

She continued: “I feel like whenever I’m happy, I deliver the best music. And in order for me to deliver the best music for my album – which is coming out soon – I have to tap back into the essence of Hip Hop. On the remix of “Super Freaky Girl”, all the girls tapped into that.”

Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime show also found the Barbados-bred singer announcing that she’s pregnant with baby No. 2. RiRi and A$AP Rocky are already parents to a nine-month-old son, whose name they have yet to announce to the public. The couple shared the first snaps of their baby in December.

Rihanna’s celebrated Super Bowl performance marked the Bajan billionaire’s first major show since the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, where she performed another career-spanning medley of hits to coincide with her winning the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
