Chris Brown has a supporter in Lisa Raye following his alleged altercation with Usher over an argument Teyana Taylor and Brown were reportedly having.

The Kill Bill actor discussed the topic on an episode of her Fox Soul show Cocktails With Queens on Tuesday (May 9) alongside her co-hosts Claudia Jordan, Vivica Fox and Syleena Johnson. While Claudia felt that Chris needs to take things down a notch, Lisa Raye saw it a different way.

“Why he gotta chill? Why he gotta chill?” she asked. “What if he felt just like what he said? ‘F her.’ What if he felt like that? What I don’t like about it is that every time his name is brought up, that he always gets automatically blamed. Because, ‘He is that way.’ We know him to be that, so it gotta be him.”

She continued: “That’s what I don’t like when people have that kind of stigma – because I got that. It’s quick for you to think that, ‘Oh Lisa Raye would have done that,” or, “Lisa Raye said that.” And I don’t like that because that very next time, it could have been very different. But you blame me because of my past.”

Chris Brown and his crew were accused of assaulting Usher at a roller rink party that Usher threw for Brown’s 34th birthday on Saturday (May 6). When reports of the alleged assault first surfaced, both Brown and Usher began trending on Twitter. And while the initial details of the alleged assault were murky, TMZ ultimately confirmed that an altercation did, indeed, take place between the two artists.

In the video posted by the outlet, both artists were at the Skate City roller rink in Las Vegas, NV, with their respective crews. When Brown started trying to talk to Teyana Taylor — who was there with Usher — Taylor turned her head and refused to chat him up. This rejection seemingly made the “Run It” singer super angry, and he began yelling at the actor and singer.

Usher then intervened, trying to diffuse the situation. And while the video doesn’t make clear what happened next, the “Let It Burn” singer reportedly came back a short time later with a bloody nose, prompting rumors that he’d been jumped by Chris Brown and his crew.

Despite the drama, Chris and Usher both performed at Lovers & Friends afterward – seemingly appearing as nothing happened.

Prior to his performance, Usher posted a variety of videos on his Instagram story and took fans behind the scenes to show how his set came altogether. What was noticeable about the 44-year-old singer’s face is that it was visibly untouched, after it was reported that he suffered an array of injuries after the melee he had with his fellow R&B comrade and his crew.

Chris Brown also took the stage and appeared to be in great spirits as well.
