Chris Brown Isn’t Done With Vanessa Carlton After She Slams Him For Domestic Abuse

Chris Brown seemed to unintentionally anger singer Vanessa Carlton on Thursday (March 8), which just so happens to be International Women’s Day. After Brown allegedly posted a clip of Carlton’s 2001 video for “A Thousand Miles,” Carlton responded by reminding Brown he was a domestic abuser.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Brown shared Carlton’s original post, which she also deleted.

“Today Chris Brown posted my video,” it read. “I am now being repeatedly tagged to his account. Being that today is International Women’s Day I feel compelled to draw a line. I support survivors not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today. Thank you. #internationalwomensday.”

Brown wasn’t done defending himself. In another Instagram post, he shared a short scene from the film White Chicks featuring Carlton’s hit song.

The caption read simply, “I LOVE THIS SONG.”

Brown, who was arrested in 2009 for beating up his then-girlfriend Rihanna, asserts he’s just a fan of the song. Naturally, Twitter had some polarizing opinions on the random social media beef.

Check out some of the reactions below.

    1. A dope worldwide artist shows u some love and u go drag out his past skeletons. SMH Fuc Vanessa!

      1. If being a sad coke head who lives on social media because adult women don’t respect him is “loving his life”, then sure, let’s go with that

    2. Why is it that we have no forgiveness in our hearts?
We all screw up at one point or another, yes Chris Brown was wrong for hitting Rihanna, but if she has forgiven him why do we constantly judge him on that incident?

      1. Has she?? And lets not forget that his last ex got a restraining order against him and he called himself a Stalker type of Guy. That dude has clearly issues when it comes to Women.

      2. While I do agree with you here, we are human and make mistakes, some really bad mistakes, that we have to learn from. However, I think one of the reasons this stink has stuck to Chris Brown for so long, aside from how high profile the whole thing was, I seem to recall him out partying and loving life like just a couple of weeks after the incident, I think his initial apology came off as so half arsed and disingenuous, and then to see how he carried on in the immediate aftermath has had a far more long lasting effect on the public’s collective conscience and attitudes towards Brown. His atonement didn’t feel real right in the eye of the storm and I think thats why it dogs him to this day.

    3. Riri hit him first so it’s not domestic violence it’s called defending yourself a female can only push your button so long before you react
