Chris Brown Claims NBA U-Turned On Celeb All-Star Game Invite After Sponsor Pushback

Chris Brown has claimed that the NBA disinvited him from the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game after receiving pushback from the event’s sponsors.

The controversial singer took to Instagram Stories early on Saturday (February 17) to detail his exclusion from the event.

He wrote: “I was asked by the NBA to play in the all star game this year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors like RUFFLES. At this point I’m sick of people bothering me and I’m tired of living in the fucking past. I POSTED THE EMAILS SO YALL COULD SEE. The NBA still was tryna get me to come and sit court side…NOT FUCKING HAPPENING.”

He also commented: “I ONLY GO WHERE IM APPRECIATED”

The R&B star also shared a video with a message to any doubters or trolls.

“THIS IS A MESSAGE TO ALL THE HATERS OUT THERE IF YOU DON’T LIKE WHAT I DO BUT YOU WATCH EVERYTHING I’M DOING YOU’RE STILL A FAN [winking face emoji].”

The “Run It” singer screenshotted emails which appear to show Brown being confirmed for Lil Wayne’s team during the game.

HipHopDX reached out to the purported sender of the emails for verification, but has not heard back as of this writing.

Ruffles denied Brown’s claims in a statement to HipHopDX.

It reads: “Ruffles sponsored last night’s NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, however Ruffles did not have any involvement in, nor visibility to, any player decisions or celebrity invite discussions.”

The “Forever” singer had been mending fences on Instagram before this latest claim.

Earlier this month, he expressed his admiration for Usher following the latter’s Super Bowl performance, seemingly burying the hatchet months after the two reportedly got into a fight.

Soon after the Atlanta native’s highly anticipated set at the NFL event, Breezy applauded his peer from a distance.

On his Instagram Stories, the singer praised the 45-year-old’s brief concert with a single emoji. The succinct post simply read: “[fire emoji] @usher.”

According to reports from last spring, Breezy and his crew assaulted Usher at a roller rink party. When news of the alleged fight first surfaced, both artists began trending on Twitter.

While the initial details of the ordeal were murky, TMZ ultimately confirmed that an argument did indeed occur.

In a video posted by the outlet, both singers could be seen at the Skate City roller rink in Las Vegas, NV with their respective crews. When Brown started trying to talk to Teyana Taylor, who was there with Usher, she turned her head. This apparently upset the “Run It” hitmaker, and he began yelling at her.

    1. Old boy is tone deaf as hell. Like he’s going to shame somebody about pulling out from him. He ought to be glad that anybody even considers him for anything when that Rihanna picture can still be viewed, and he just had another incident with Usher just last year. Like buddy, be glad you still have a career.

      1. Get over it. That Rihanna shit was from 2009 and him biting her would suggest that he was on defense. Not to mention, she admitted to physically abusing her own brother.

      2. Get lost Silent_Partner! A past incident has no bearing on the fact that Chris is a one of the most talented singers and performers of this generation. If he and Rhianna made up after doing each other wrong, who are you to create an issue that no longer exists?! You seriously need help.

      3. Yep, get over dude making a woman look like Mike Tyson beat her in the 90s. Btw, I’m not the one who needs to get over it. The corporate world though, they still haven’t and won’t ever.

      4. You can kindly eat a dick. Who said he’s not talented? Also, cancel culture doesn’t exist dickhead. If it did, this confirmed shitty person wouldn’t be touring nonstop and about to put out his 25th album or whatever he’s on now. That doesn’t mean anyone should be okay with him being the face of any corporate sanctioned events or that anyone should forget what he did to that woman.

      5. Its funny that lames like you Silent Partner got the balls to speak in third person and appoint themselves spokespersons for the “corporate world.” True to form, you’ve made yourself the Judge of an issue that’s already been resolved by the law and the people involved in the past. You’re a classic case of what happens when people start talking so much smack they heads fill up and they start to believe it! Deny Cancel Culture exists but you’re actions are see through. SMH LMFAO!

    2. Chris brown keeps crying bloody murder but he never misses a chance to say fuck you fuck this and fuck that but then gets hurt when the opps decide to exercise their right to say fuck you too. The great irony is he would trade all this gangster shit away in a second to be a pop star sweetheart again he’s a punk

    3. Based on all the F bombing…and a quick Google search… Chris Brown is actually tired of living in the present. Dude is one sick puppy.
