Chris Brown continues to be plagued by critics who believe she should’ve been “canceled” a long time ago, but the singer refuses to wave the white flag.
The Virginia-bred hitmaker faced fresh backlash this week after joining forces with Ciara on her new single “How We Roll,” which arrived on Friday (August 4).
Despite them being two of the biggest R&B stars of their generation, it marks just the third collaboration between the pair following 2009’s “Turntables” and Ludacris’ “How Low (Remix),” which dropped the following year.
When CiCi announced the song on Instagram days earlier, some fans took to the comments section to express their disapproval of her working with a man who has been accused of violence against multiple women — most notably his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
“Who still works with Chris brown these days. So disappointed and disgusted,” one fan wrote, while another put: “Damn this is so sad. I loved Ciara so much.”
Someone else called out Ciara by writing: “He has a long record of abusing women but I guess that doesn’t matter to you.”
It appears that Chris Brown caught wind of the criticism, and while plugging his and Ciara’s new single on social media following its midnight release, he took a moment to fire back at the hate.
“WEIRDOS: didn’t we cancel Chris Brown?” he wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Me: IM STILL ALIVE [smirking face emoji].”
Produced by Precision Productions, Deli Banger and Mr Kamera, “How We Roll” serves as the first single from Ciara’s upcoming project CiCi, which is set to drop on August 18.
The sultry, laidback record is accompanied by a cinematic video which pits CiCi and Breezy as friendly rivals when it comes to throwing parties and busting a move on the dancefloor.
After strutting their stuff in the back of separate trucks that cruise side by side on the freeway, a literal bridge is formed between the two shipping containers, paving the way for an intimate dance-off between the R&B stars.
“How We Roll” also extends Ciara’s recent purple path, follow previous singles like “JUMP” with Coast Contra, “Better Thangs” with Summer Walker and “Da Girls,” as well as the international-flavored “Slow” with Hong Kong star Jackson Wang and “Get Loose” with Indonesian singer Agnez Mo.
“Better Thangs” and “Da Girls” both received remixes with some of the rap game’s brightest female talents, with GloRilla jumping on the former, and Lola Brooke and Lady London linking up with CiCi on the latter.

Chris brown is nothing more than a drake wannabe who couldn’t even pull off the task of respecting women. Remember, drakenloves women, brown beats them.
How would he be a Drake Wannabe when he has been out way before Drake🤣🤣 Sorry drake was on Degrassi when Chris Brown first came out😂😂😂😂 kkow your fact’s before you speak….
People act like he struck a woman when he was young and then moved on and never did again. That’s not the case.
Nas, Kendrick, and Joey Badass doing songs with him makes me shake my head. But when a female artist collaborates with him, it’s truly pathetic.
A man striking a woman just doesn’t give that sick feeling in the gut to a lot of people. It seems to bother women less than it does men.
Keep that same energy when it’s most ya brothers n cousin out there abusing woman these comment pathetic, look in the mirror hypocrite
Get over your damn self he made a mistake I guess your fake ass is perfect never made a mistake in your life weirdo fuck outta here with your poverty life , be happy with your welfare damn

Chris Brown has been dealing with media bashing since the “incident”. People have jumped on the media bandwagon and they don’t have a clue, they just keep regurgitating opinions based on what they’re fed by the media, which has it’s own agenda. Social Media, You tubers, etc. pile on because they need to to be relevant. Everybody tries to exploit him for their own reasons and it’s all b.s. The powers that be are after him because he owns his own masters, i. e. Mj, Prince, Torey Lanez, all of whom were driven into early graves or into prison because they wanted to control their own destinys. Chris has withstood a 20 year obslaught of malicious comments and his response has been to create the most iconic music of our time. Shout out to Ciara for staying loyal to him because whether anyone wants to admit it or not: The collab with Breezy catapulted her back into relevance . How We Roll; The song and video is still trending everywhere, all around the world. The video should have been nominated along with Summer Too Hot at the VMA’s. Either one could have easily won. Of course the agenda is to never let Chris get his shine like that but it doesn’t matter. I’ve followed his journey from the beginning to now. The media and everyone else has never let up on him and his response has been to keep moving in his purpose. He understands what he has been called to do and with the determination of the Bull and the courage of the Lion, he’s stayed true to himself and his purpose. No, he’s not perfect. But it is a testament to his overall tenacity and drive that he’s still standing. He’s still strong. NOBODY else could do that. Like MJ, Prince, and Torey Lanez, the powers that be want to break him because he owns his own masters. The “incident” is just the club they use to stir the public up and keep them helping to do their dirty work. Chris ia a Divine Masculine. That’s why they keep coming for his rep, his money, his life. We know it’’s because he is a Chosen One. We don’t give a f..k what haters say. He’s on another level. Nobody can touch him. We know it and they know it. I cannot stand bulliess. I stand with Chris against them because its wrong but also because I admire him as a man with incredible, God-blessed talent, and true grit to stand in his own truth. . I don’t give a fk what haters say. Team Breezy for life.
